Peacocke, UK and Ireland Sales Manager at Denso UK said: “These work hard to optimise the cabin environment, preventing airborne particles such as dust, pollutants, pollens and other allergens from entering the cabin and taking the driver’s attention away from the road. “Despite being traditionally considered as a seasonal product, the cabin filter has now become an all-year-round replacement requirement, particularly as using the HVAC system, whatever the season, is finally being accepted as not only the best course of action for the well-being of the vehicle’s occupants, but also for the performance and longevity of the complete A/C system.” He added: “DENSO Aftermarket offers two types of cabin air filter; Standard particle filters and combination filters, which have an additional, activated charcoal layer located inside the filtration material. The DENSO cabin filter range consists of 233 part numbers that cover around 90% of the European car parc.” For more information, visit: www.denso-am.eu Solution Fitment advice for replacing the fuel filter on the Ford Transit fitted with the 2.2-litre engine, due to the OE fuel filter leaking, has been made available by MAHLE Aftermarket UK. Alan Povey, Quality, Warranty and Technical Manager at MAHLE, observed: “The issue has led Ford to develop what it believes to be a solution, installing a thicker and more robust seal, while also including the correct installation instructions in the box. Following this development, MAHLE Aftermarket’s new fuel filter for this vehicle, part number KX387D, is issued with technical advice reminding technicians to replace similar references by always lubricating the seal first.” Alan continued: “The first step in the fitting guide reminds technicians to use the new blue O-ring provided, lubricating with oil first, and assembling it on the cup, removing the old brown O-ring. Technicians should then align the filter element and insert by pushing only and not using powered equipment. The filter element can then be locked by clipping in the claws into the cap grooves. Next, the arrow on the sub-assembly should be linked up with the unlocked arrow of the filter housing. Once done, the filter cap can be pushed towards the housing at a rotation of 10 degrees. The cap will be snapped into the housing. “They should keep pushing the filter cap to the housing and rotate the filter cap right by hand, until the first thread of the filter cap engages with the filter housing, ensuring this is only tightened manually to prevent any potential damage. Technicians should then to tighten the cap further right by using the assembly tool, a fuel filter wrench, until a click sound occurs, which confirms final lock position. “Technicians can then visually ascertain the final lock position by checking that the lock arrow is aligned with the cap arrow.” He added: “All similar filters should be installed by lubricating the seal before installation and the correct installation process needs to be followed.” For more information, visit: www.mahleaftermarket.com/eu/en/.
