Longstanding customer AMC — a service, MOT, and repair centre in Surrey — is one of the latest garages to benefit from A1 ADAS Solutions’ expertise in bespoke equipment solutions. AMC has just taken delivery of a Hofmann Megaplan Megamount 613 Tyre machine with 24� clamping capability, and a Megaspin 420 wheel balancer to replace its ageing equipment. The garage’s old tyre machine was struggling with larger alloy wheels and the wheel balancer had given incorrect results, resulting in steering wheel wobble after tyres were fitted. To accommodate raised spoke and delicate alloys, A1 UK sales manager Matt Hume suggested the addition of an added Evo Leverless function; a simple thumb-operated control which effortlessly lowers the ‘finger’ under the bead of the tyre and lifts the bead over the rim. This was combined with a quick release interchangeable mounting head set with plastic raised spoke and standard metal head. Matt said: “The Hofmann Megaplan Megamount 613 is a heavyduty tyre machine built to last. It can withstand the strain of Run Flat and low-profile tyres and the Evo upgrade makes worrying about damaging expensive alloy wheels a thing of the past. “The machine also benefits from ergonomic positioning of the bead braker pedal and a stroke limiter on the bead braker also reduces further risk of damaging the wheel. “With a built-in inflation station and quadra clamp turntable, this machine will most certainly take on any task that a modern garage can throw at it.” The Megaspin 420 wheel balancer with laser pinpoint system, has also proved to be a good choice for the garage. AMC workshop manager Mark Hawker is finding it makes the job easier and quicker, whilst being safe in the knowledge of its high level of accuracy.
