Drives & Controls January 2024

46 n NEW PRODUCTS January 2024 www.drivesncontrols.com Omron has launched a pair of AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) that, it claims, o er the highest speeds in the 500-800kg load class. The 650kg-capacity and MD-650 and 900kg MD-900 AMRs have a “unique” obstacle avoidance algorithm and are said to operate smoothly even in narrow aisles, with a top speed of 2.2m/s for the MD-650 or 1.8m/s for the MD-900. An advanced battery and charging technology allows 8 hours of operation on a 30minute charge for the MD-650, or 7.5 hours for the MD-900. A single installation, controlled by proprietary software, can provide integrated transfer routes for up to 100 mobile robots with di erent payloads and control transfer sequences in real time. Real-time routing is possible, even for inter-process transfers at di erent production speeds. The MD-series complies with the ISO3691-4 safety standard for driverless industrial trucks and systems. The FactoryTalk Optix portfolio allows users to connect to a variety of third-party software, devices or systems using software designed for interoperability that supports OPC UA. Users pay only for the functions they need. The portfolio o ers an open architecture with options for design, deployment, connectivity and extensibility that will allow users to develop and program industrial applications. The portfolio consists of: nThe Optix HMI visualisation platform which users can access from a browser or download to a computer. It delivers —exibility, scalability and interoperability and allows them to design and deploy HMIs. It includes functions such as multi-user collaboration, Web-based design and test, and version control. n Remote Access which provides secure remote connections, allowing users to view, assist, manage and troubleshoot from anywhere in the world. n Sealed OptixPanel graphic terminals that come pre-loaded with FactoryTalk Optix and Remote Access software licenses. The all-in-one devices are ready to run at ™rst powerup. n Customisable ASEM 6300 industrial PCs, available in box or panel formats. n Embedded Edge Compute Modules which allow users to process visual data locally or remotely while being able to grow and scale systems as needs change. Rockwell Automation www.rockwellautomation.co.uk Machine vision inspections can be con™gured rapidly in 3D via a new app for use with Sick’s compact Visionary-T Mini AP camera. Common 3D inspection tasks such as completeness, ™ll level monitoring, or robot palletising, run on board the camera using the Nova 3D Presence Inspection sensorApp. Users simply choose the 3D machine vision tools they need via a graphical user interface and the camera delivers inspection results via I/O to a machine controller, or via TCP/IP. Users do not require programming skills. They simply choose the tools they need from the app. They can also access standard vision tools or install ready-made, application-speci™c tools. The app can handle tasks such as emptiness checks in bins and crates, presence detection of objects in 3D scenes, as well as simple measurements and quality tolerance checks. The Nova Presence Inspection toolset can be used to determine the position, height and volume of a package – allowing a robot to pick it and place it in a container or pallet. The programmable Visionary-T Mini AP camera is easy to con™gure and commission. A multi-cam mode is available to process image data from more than one camera. The IP65/67protected camera uses a timeof-—ight snapshot technology for detailed perception of the environment at high speeds. It captures both the 3D depth and 2D intensity values for every pixel at a 512 × 424 pixel resolution in a single shot, at up to 30 3D frames per second. Sick (UK) www.sick.co.uk Mitsubishi Electric has added Fail Safe over EtherCat (FSoE) to its Melservo MR-J5 servodrives, allowing them to connect with approved EtherCat masters to control safety functions over FSoE, thus simplifying safety installations, and reducing wiring and costs. It will be easier to plan, commission and manage safety systems. The TÜV-certi“ed technology complies with IEC 61508 and IEC 61784-3. The drives can integrate with existing EtherCat-based systems. https://emea.mitsubishielectric. com/fa Binder has introduced an M15 power bayonet connector for power supplies (630V, 16A) and signal linking of devices via one cable. The compact, quick-locking PBC15 connector o™ers a high power density and easy-to-use design, for fast wiring and installation. It can supply power to three-phase motors or frequency converters. It has three power pins, for example, to supply the three live phases of a three-phase motor, two additional pins for signal transmission, as well as a PE (protective earth) contact. www.binder-connector.de Micro-Epsilon has extended its scanControl LLT30xx range of 2D/3D laser line pro“le sensors by adding two larger measuring “elds. The LLT30xx-430 and LLT30xx-600 provide “elds of up to 560x390mm and 788x610mm, enabling precise pro“le measurements on almost any surface. The larger “elds open up new 2D/3D pro“le measurements in a variety of industrial applications. One of the new sensors can perform tasks that would previously have needed several devices. www.micro-epsilon.co.uk
