HYDRAULICS 28 HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS April/May 2020 www.hpmag.co.uk Reynolds Contamination Control has announced that, from now on, all its servo test hydraulic power units will incorporate Rockson LubriTek’s GPII UltraLife Premium range of hydraulic oils. The new partnership brings together two companies whose primary focus is the pursuit of purity. Reynolds report that the company, led by technical director Wayne Hubball, has been relentless in its quest to boost filtration and particle control – and overall cleanliness in fluids. Along with training and consultancy services, Reynolds designs and builds bespoke rigs for clients – including Formula 1 racing teams – looking for the highest possible standards. Now, it is these hydraulic power units that will – in turn – showcase the benefits of premium hydraulic oil quality. Rockson LubriTek’s GPII UltraLife Premium range of hydraulic oils are produced from hydrocracked base oil technology blended with a high performing additive pack which meet the new Bosch Rexroth fluid rating RDE 90235. Benchmark Rockson LubriTek sales director Jamie Shaw, comments: “This specification will be the industry standard benchmark for all hydraulic oils moving forward, as New partnership puts purity in pole position Gardner Denver High Pressure Solutions (HPS), the total solutions provider for the drilling, well servicing and frac pumps market, has launched its new, next-generation, cost-efficient fluid end: the Gardner Denver VX Hydraulic fracturing pump fluid end (VX). The lightweight VX has been designed for use with GD-2500Q hydraulic fracturing pumps and comparable 8 in. stroke quintuplex power ends from other manufacturers, as a replacement for the larger and heavier Gardner Denver SGWS fluid end. The VX represents an economical alternative to the SGWS fluid end while utilising many of the existing SGWS internals such as valves and seats, Redline consumables, patented Falcon Technology, and suction cover retainers. Lightweight Tony McLain, vice president of sales for Gardner Denver’s HPS division, says: “The VX fluid end is revolutionary in our industry as it weighs 2000 lbs less than standard industry fluid ends, while maintaining the performance, longevity, and convenient installation configuration of our traditional SGWS. Our testing has proven that the VX is an inexpensive alternative to the SGWS while fatigue life, thread strength, and washout life meets or exceeds that of the SGWS. The new VX utilises a standard 6- Cost-efficient hydraulic fracturing pump fluid end bolt flange configuration and is a direct replacement for the SGWS and most competitor fluid ends.” Ultimate combination Edward Bayhi, vice president and general manager of Gardner Denver’s HPS division, adds: “Gardner Denver constructs fluid ends that have provided the lowest total cost of ownership and superior performance for decades. Our customers asked us to deliver a fluid end that meets their equipment and budget expectations in the 2020 frac market and beyond. They needed a fluid end that delivered high quality, lightweight, cost-efficiency at initial purchase and over the life of the pump. The VX fluid end delivers on these expectations and represents the ultimate combination of Gardner Denver performance, quality and efficiency.” www.gardnerdenverpumps.com demands on hydraulic systems increase and pump manufacturers demand higher performing hydraulic oils, especially with more compact systems with less oil. “GPII UltraLife offers four times longer life against oxidisation, improved filterability maintaining lower ISO cleanliness levels, advanced lubricity offering increased wear protection and extending equipment life, excellent water separation capability and improved sheer stability enhancing hydraulic system performance.” Hubball adds: “Our mission, quite simply, is to provide the highest levels of cleanliness and customer service - through the application of a rigorous science-based process that enhances engineering performance and helps protect our environment. “Like all our strategic and technical partners, Rockson LubriTek are experts in their particular field and the fact that we are using their GPll UltraLife Premium range of hydraulic oils further enhances our own product offering and creates even higher levels of customer confidence and trust.” www.reynoldscc.co.uk Initial oil fill carried out with GPII UltraLife EE 46 – on machinery where ISO cleanliness level requirements of 17/15/11 are demanded.
