MENZEL ELEKTROMOTOREN says its motor customers in the UK appreciate its fast delivery capability. Two of them recently contacted the company after experiencing motor failures, which meant that the water supply to 30,000 households was threatened and production in a cement plant was halted. After delivery times of only six and ten days, respectively, both the pump and the cement mill could be restarted in the shortest imaginable time. Faced with unexpected downtime due to equipment failures, customers often cannot afford to wait for a motor manufactured from scratch – standard delivery times in higher output ranges start at six months. Menzel says it has proven a strong partner in an emergency, quickly configuring suitable motor systems for a wide range of high-output applications. t| +49 . 30 . 349 922-0 e| info@menzel-motors.com w| www.menzel-motors.com To celebrate the significant milestone of its 75th anniversary, FLUKE has announced it is offering free tool cases and discounts with purchases of some of its most popular multimeters, together with up to 25% savings on a wide range of measurement tools that engineers use every day. Running from 1 October to 31 December 2023, Fluke is offering free tool cases with qualified purchases of the Fluke 179, 87-V and 115 Digital Multimeters. The Fluke 179 and 87-5 are special editions complete with the Fluke 75th anniversary logo and all three multimeters will also be available at a discount of 10% off the listed price. In line with an ambitious growth strategy which has been primarily driven by increasing demand from the food and pharmaceutical industries, Macpac says its new Illig six-bar thermoformer is set to offer the company more scope in terms of run speed. It offers industrial process control, forming/punching technology and a maximum forming area of 756mm x 535mm.The advanced machine features a fully robotised stacking system and operates at up to 55 cycles per minute. w| www.macpac.co.uk Six days instead of six months delivery 75th anniversary celebration Process, Controls & Plant October/November 2023 www.pwemag.co.uk Plant & Works Engineering | 29 Second phase of £1.5million investment Major investment in robotic w elding cells WILLIAM HUGHES says it has adapted quickly to a serious increase in demand from an automotive seating customer, thanks to a major investment in robotic welding cells and associated tooling and fixtures. The investment is in reaction to the ramp up in popularity for a recently released sports utility vehicle. Currently selling beyond production capacity, the vehicle is available with multiple seating configurations, so the demand for seating frames and hardware has seen commensurate growth. Ben Cox, Manager of William Hughes Bulgaria: “The output for the various seating modules and formats is now about 30% higher than the original anticipated peak production plan. And with the automotive industry relying on just-in-time delivery for primary modules, such as seating, we knew that we had to pull out all the stops to ensure our tier-one customer would not disrupt production.” t| 01963 363377 e| sales@wmhughes.co.uk w| www.wmhughes.co.uk By releasing the new MGF X Line range of oil-free compressors into the UK market, FPS AIR COMPRESSORS says it is providing dental labs running CAD/CAM-driven milling machines and 3D printers with a proven way to utilise a continuous and highly reliable source of clean, dry compressed air without risk of contamination. Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems are finding growing use in the creation of dental restorations such as crowns, bridges and veneers. The new X Line can supply clean and dry compressed air continuously and reliably to CAD/CAM-driven milling processes, ensuring the precise, reliable and high-integrity production of dental prosthetics. A further benefit of using innovative MGF X Line compressor technology at dental labs is increased air capacity and, subsequently, lower energy bills. This advantage arrives courtesy of a patented MGF system that reduces the air requirements of the membrane dryer, which in turn increases the available flow of air from the compressor by 20-25% to help optimise dental lab processes such as milling. The X Line is also ideal for serving 3D printers, which although an additive rather than a subtractive process like milling, still need a compressor that provides continuous, high air quality and low vibration to support the precision and stability demanded by the 3D Printers industry. Notably, as 3D printing technology becomes more widespread, the importance of air quality in the printing process is gaining more and more attention in the process. t| 01865 892 620 e| sales@fps-compressors.co.uk w| www.fps-compressors.co.uk/energy-saving-air-compressors Benefiting from oil-free compressors
