It is being addressed more openly, but a little encouragement still helps. Our industry dealt with it head-on in October as we went to press, literally, by donning headgear for Hats on 4 Mental Health Day, organised by Ben. We did our bit, as you can see. Last year's inaugural event raised over £13,000. Let’s hope this year’s event is an even bigger success. It seems like just yesterday when Top Technician 2017 came to an end. Well, now we are looking to the future with the launch of Top Technician 2018. Not only that though, we are bringing a new competition with it; Top Garage 2018. Turn to pages 24-25 to find out more, and how to take part. Speaking of Top Technician, we visit 2017 runner up Shaun Miller at Millers Garage on pages 54-55 . On pages 8-10 we have a think about the impact of the various scrappage schemes on the sector, while on page 12 we look at bullying in the workplace in the final instalment of our two-part report. Looking ahead, Neil Pattemore gazes into the legislative future on pages 14-15 . John Batten offers an explanation as to why the diagnostic process is not always plain sailing on pages 16-17 , while on pages 18-19 James Dillon looks at how the changing car market will affect garages going forward. Frank Massey takes a trip to France that throws a new light on the issue of quality parts on pages 20-21 , while on pages 22-23 Peter Coombes examines EV and hybrid technologies. Oil was the order of the day recently when we visited Morris Lubricants. Find out what goes on in a typical day at the plant on pages 52-53 . We also have all the latest on remanufactured components, clutch and transmission, steering and suspension and filters. It’s a real throw-your-hats-in-the-air-with-joy issue!
