However the other sign of the changing seasons in Aftermarket is Top Technician/Top Garage. Top Technician 2018 is racing ahead, with entrants already onto the second round. If you are a business looking to enter Top Garage, you have until 6 April to enter. Turn to page 28 to find out all you need to know. Sadly, it’s not all fun and healthy competition. Anger over Dieselgate has evolved into a push towards cleaner vehicles overall. This puts vehicle emissions back at the top of the agenda, so on pages 8-11 we ask if the internal combustion engine is nearing the end of the road. Life will go on whatever is under the bonnet in 20 years time though, so on page 12 Adam Bernstein continues his look into employment tribunal rules changes. Speaking of staff, on pages 14-15 Neil Pattemore looks at management styles. Speaking of style, scopes are clearly in vogue. John Batten is looking at their magical properties on pages 20-21, while on pages 24-25 Frank Massey shows how he picks the kit that works for him. In the middle of all this scoping, Peter Coombes gives us the latest instalment of his look into EV and hybrid tech on pages 22-23. Getting back to specifics, Karl Weaver looks at the active wheel speed sensor on pages 26-27. We also visited Tempest4Cars in deepest West Sussex – you can see that on pages 52-53. Continuing our series on women in the industry, we meet a female apprentice and ask her all about her experiences as a recent entrant to the sector. You’ll find that on pages 54-55. Looking ahead, we take a look at what’s coming up at Automechanika Birmingham on pages 50-51. We also have all the latest on rotating electrics, steering and suspension and clutch and transmission. We also have a special on ADAS, and an in-depth look at electric and hybrid vehicles. Take some time – Have a read! Alex Wells Editor aftermarketmagazine @aftermarket01
