ELTA Automotive ELTA Automotive had a lot to celebrate and demonstrate at the show. As well as marking its 25th anniversary, the company also used the opportunity to enable the trade to get up close and personal with its new VISIONPRO and VXPRO brands. "The dual introduction was made as a direct response to the changing face of the aftermarket," said ELTA’s Managing Director Ian Hallam. "The brands are positioned to provide the solution for the needs of the independent who is having to adapt and evolve to compete in this developing landscape." VLS VLS was distributing copies of its consumer leaflet at Automechanika Birmingham in order to show why it is so important to choose the correct oil. The leaflet also highlights the work VLS does to maintain high standards in the industry and ensure the end users can have confidence that the oil they are using can deliver what is claimed. David Wright, Company Secretary of VLS observed: "We are reaching out to the end users. It is really important that as part of our mission we educate the end user in terms of the right products for the right application. The role of the VLS here is very important, as well as to raise our general profile in the sector as well. They know we are here and we are helping contribute towards an open and transparent marketplace that provides a level playing field for the benefit of all. "We also have some of our members here so we are making sure that we are very visible to them – the likes of Morris Lubricants, Castrol and Fuchs. He added: "Automechanika has really established itself as the premier aftermarket event in the UK. We were here last year and it has really become the must-attend event you can't afford to miss." Variety The range of exhibitors included a variety of industry names, with wide array of aims. Automechanika Birmingham provided an opportunity for exhibitors to discuss all the recent changes affecting the industry with attendees. Among many other topics, visitors to their wide, open-plan BM Catalysts stand were discussing the positive impact of tougher rules on diesel emissions that came as part of the changes to the UK’s MOT structure.
