The French company has been around for over 160 years, and is renowned for its breakthrough in 1971 where it produced the first 100% synthetic lubricant, using tech from the aeronautical industry. The tie up came together when Motul was negotiating a 2018 season sponsorship with sister company to Automotive Brands, Power Maxed Racing (PMR), Vauxhall’s team in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). During the negotiations, it was clear that Motul was also looking for a company to help distribute their products to the UK aftermarket. Gunter Steven, Head of BU Sales Export for Motul, comments: “To also have the opportunity to work with Automotive Brands to expand our presence in the UK aftermarket sector was an equally exciting opportunity for us both.“
