James comes to the position from the Commercial Director role at Yuasa he took on in November 2017, having been General Manager – Sales & Marketing since 2011. He has been with the company for over 12 years and has been in the battery industry for 22 years. Immediately prior to his new role, Stewart was Group Aftersales Director at dealer group Arnold Clark, where he has worked for more than 30 years. In his new role, Stewart will oversee the businesses operating within Group Autoparts. Autoparts UK began in 1991 as part of Arnold Clark and now has 12 branches across Scotland and the North of England, including a 70,000 square foot distribution warehouse in Glasgow. Arnold Clark acquired West Midlands based Midwest Motor Factors in 2015. Midwest now operates a fleet of over 45 delivery vehicles from five different locations throughout the Black Country. Stewart said: “I am looking forward to playing a more specific role within the factor businesses – Autoparts UK and Midwest Motor Factors – and working to ensure we take advantage of any opportunities to develop our proposition further.” He will be based at the head office in Glasgow. Regional Director appointed by Automotive Engine decontamination specialist EDT Automotive has named Ian Stubbs as Regional Director for the north. His main priority is to appoint partners across the central belt of Scotland, in locations such as Livingston, Edinburgh, Prestwick, Ayre and Kilmarnock. Ian joins the company after working in the automotive industry for nearly 40 years in varying capacities with motor factors, dealer groups and vehicle manufacturers. His experience means that Ian is armed with the tools required to help grow the number of garages in the EDT network, increasing EDT’s presence in open points across northern England and Scotland. According to founder David Holmes, things are now gathering pace north of the border: “Ian joined at the start of the year and our first machine in Scotland went live just before Christmas. Since then we have had enquiries from Scottish garages who have heard about our machine and what we do.”
