Owen brings experience in business management and automotive engineering to the FER from his previous roles at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and General Motors Europe. In JLR he was responsible for major contract negotiations in Europe and Asia Pacific. Prior to JLR, Owen has set up successful business ventures and held various positions within General Motors Europe. Commenting on his new role at FER, Owen said: “I am delighted to be joining the FER at such an exciting time in the Federation’s history.” John Gray, FER president, said: “With technological changes and the electrification of vehicles, the FER is set to undergo one of its biggest evolutions for many years. Owen is perfectly positioned to take the FER message out to the wider market and ensure it is fit for purpose for the years ahead.” Automechanika Birmingham appoints new Event Director Automechanika Birmingham has promoted Jack Halliday to the position of Event Director, just under a year after he joined the Messe Frankfurt UK subsidiary as Head of Sales. As the event prepares to return to the NEC for the fourth time in June 2019 and with many major industry players signed up to exhibit, Jack will oversee all event management. He said: “I am delighted to be have become Event Director for Automechanika Birmingham.” Jack has worked within B2B exhibitions for over 15 years, and has also worked within the automotive industry for BP Mobil and for Castrol as Regional Development Manager. Mahesh has extensive experience of working with automotive software. Across a 28-year career with Epicor Software, he undertook various roles including hardware installations, system implementation and training, data conversion and support. He will fulfil a similar role at MAM as a professional services technician. Commenting on Mahesh's appointment, MAM Software's professional Services Director Matthew Collier said: "We are delighted to welcome Mahesh to the team at MAM Software.
