The company will be running its High Voltage Electrical course at the event, along with Automatic Transmission Servicing; Maintenance and Diagnostics. This will be the first time Autoinform LIVE has been held in Ireland. Wayne McCluskey, Technical Training Manager, ZF Aftermarket commented: “For the industry, it’s truly great news that Autoinform LIVE is widening its reach to communicate the training message. Put bluntly, if today’s technicians don’t invest now in the training necessary for the vehicles of the future, they won’t be able to service and repair them – leaving the door open for those who can and compromising the integrity of the IAM.” The two training courses on offer from ZF Aftermarket will be repeated at intervals throughout the show and will give delegates a taste of the many IMI-accredited courses the organisation offers annually to members of its ZF [pro]Tech garage workshop concept. Wayne added: “More VMs are producing more electric vehicles, which will soon enter the aftermarket supply chain. Furthermore, future licensing regulations governing the servicing of these vehicles is a very real possibility. Those attending the ZF High Voltage Electrical (HVE) course will gain a valuable insight into these systems. In addition, those working with petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles can better understand how to maximise workshop oil opportunities by attending the Automatic Transmission Servicing, (ATS) Maintenance and Diagnostics course.” Backed by the Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) and in association with ADS, the automotive training provider founded by Frank Massey, Autoinform LIVE will take place on 27-28 April 2019 at the Munster J&S Automotive Training Centre, Cork. To book your place on either course, please visit the OESAA website: www.oe-suppliers.org Fyfes fully charged by GS Yuasa Fyfes Vehicle and Engineering Supplies Ltd recently hosted a GS Yuasa training afternoon for its branch managers and areas sales managers. Fyfes now employs more than 200 staff, with 15 branches in Northern Ireland along with a depot in Drogheda, Ireland. The training, held at the Ballymena head office, was carried out by GS Yuasa Training Manager Ian Newham and covered a number of critical issues surrounding batteries and future technologies. Topics covered included the impact of emissions reduction and how this is affecting batteries, as well as technology and terminology. The team also gained insight into Yuasa’s ‘Always Check the Battery’ scheme, which enables workshops to routinely test a vehicle’s battery every time it goes in for service or repair work. Fyfes Managing Director Tony Fyfe said: “It’s important that our team are fully aware of the emerging technologies and how to communicate these to customers.
