JULY/AUGUST 2019 AFTERMARKET 17 www.aftermarketonline.net Land Rover specialist adds service Strathearn Engineering, an independent Land Rover specialist has been able to offer customers an additional add-on service, while also lowering and emissions and helping their vehicles pass MOTs, since signing up with EDT Automotive. EDT’s engine decontamination technology cleans the oil system, preparing it to receive new oil without impurities from residue normally left after conventional servicing. The Aberuthven-based business took delivery of their EDT unit in May 2018, and since then the garage has undertaken 135 treatments. Owner Jonathan Lesley said: “We work with vehicles of all ages: from brand new ones through to cars dating back to 1949. They cover a mix of petrol and diesel engines, and some have many, many miles on the clock. We often carry out MOT tests on these vehicles, which have to comply with fairly stringent emissions legislation. This was the reason that I first began looking into offering engine decontamination. EDT Automotive came along at just the right moment: the technology involved was really impressive and the ‘pay- as-you-go’ model suited us perfectly. Plus, the guys at EDT are great, they’ve been really supportive. “The customer feedback has been superb. Customers have all commented that their vehicles are smoother and quieter, with power and fuel consumption much improved. And of course we know, having checked before and after, that emissions are way down!” David Holmes, Managing Director at EDT Automotive, commented: “We’re delighted to have Strathearn in the EDT network, and we’re very pleased with the success they’ve achieved with us to-date.”
