DENSO reserves the right to refuse r The unprecedented rain and flooding that lashed much of Britain last month did not deter keen garage owners in the midlands from attending an open evening at The Parts Alliance’s new Midpoint Distribution Centre in mid-June, during the worst of the weather. A total of 250 attendees including 25 key suppliers made it for the event The open evening was going to take place at GSF Birmingham but was moved to Midpoint to include customers of local branches of CES and Bromsgrove Motor Factors too. Guests were given tours of the distribution centre and were treated to a BBQ courtesy of Schaeffler’s LuK brand, in defiance of the weather. Dean Whitehouse, Head of Business Development at The Parts Alliance, said: “We were delighted to see so many customers make the effort in spite of the awful rain. It’s great to be able to show hundreds of customers the investment we’re making to keep improving service levels and what goes on behind the scenes.” Simon Moore, Head of Marketing at The Parts Alliance, added: “Despite atrocious weather, we had an unbelievable turnout and it really showed the loyalty of our customers to make the effort through the floods. It was wonderful to see so many people there and our thanks go to our suppliers and staff for putting together a great open evening.” When the rain comes down: Record TRICO annual sales Sales of TRICO wiper blades have surged year-on-year at Autoparts UK, with the brand’s Exact Fit and Flex range going up 65% during the period. Prior to the sales jump, TRICO revamped both ranges as a result of customer feedback. Changes included shallower packaging that allows workshops to increase the number of wiper blades they can hang on display in their reception area. TRICO UK and Ireland Technical Sales Representative Andy Taylor (pictured) commented: “The relationship between TRICO and Autoparts UK continues to go from strength-to-strength, as we address and develop solutions to meet the needs of customers. To coincide with our development push, we are thrilled to announce that a brand-new wiper blade series will be launched later this year, so watch this space.” Here comes the flood: The Parts Alliance open evening attracts 250
