JULY/AUGUST 2019 AFTERMARKET 65 EYEBROW www.aftermarketonline.net New FER board appointees and members There has been a number of new appointments made to the Federation of Engine Re- manufacturers (FER) Board, including new President David Esenzyi, Commercial Director of Ivor Searle. He takes over from John Gray, who stepped down in October 2018. David Esenzyi commented: “I am delighted to take on this role and represent the interests of the engine remanufacturing fraternity. I am also looking forward to continuing FER’s work with industry influencers to develop and strengthen the position and reputation of our members within the industry.” Adrian Wilkes, Managing Director of Gosnays Engineering, is remaining as FER Treasurer. New owners at EAG Excel Automotive Group (EAG) has appointed Adrian Lamb as Managing Director, while Harry Bhogal will be responsible for the day- to-day operations of the company, following its recent acquisition. The company has been bought by by Sancorp Ltd owner and Autoelectro Managing Director Autoelectro Tony Bhogal, in partnership with son, Harry, from TVS Motor Group Ltd (Universal Components Ltd). Adrian’s automotive aftermarket experience spans more than three decades, having begun his career in parts distribution and then moving over to the supply sector. He said: “I am delighted to be at the forefront of this new chapter in EAG’s history. I believe the company has unfinished business, and while the industry has evolved significantly over the years, with the support of Tony and Harry, I am confident we can return the brand to its former glory – we’ll certainly give it a go.” Harry observed: “There is a lot of experience for me to draw upon, which I believe will be crucial as I begin this new role; however, I am ready to step up and stamp my own authority, as we look to put EAG at the forefront of customers’ minds.” New VP for KYB Tetsunosuke Nagasawa has been named as the new Vice President for KYB Europe Aftermarket, replacing Mike Howarth. Tetsunosuke joined KYB in 2005, in the Tokyo based aftermarket business department. He transferred to Europe in 2007. Tetsunosuke commented: “It is important to remember that KYB Europe not only sells our brand products to the aftermarket, but also support, logistic and sales services. Therefore we must create additional value for our products to make a difference for our customers. To succeed, we must be open minded and proactive. We will continue our principle to be quick and aggressive.” PCL makes Category Manager appointment Pneumatic Components (PCL) has appointed Simon Alexander to the newly created role of Category Manager. Formerly Category Manager at BPT, part of Travis Perkins Group, Simon’s focus at PCL is reviewing the factored products category range and identifying and introducing new products, taking them all the way through from initial concept to manufacture and distribution. To support new product development, PCL has also invested in a 3D printer to enable it to prototype products and respond to customer demands faster. Simon Alexander said: “I look forward to completing my review of the range and getting underway with new product prototyping and development, as well as putting a ‘PCL spin’ on the new factored products we introduce.” Commenting on the appointment, Simon Shorter, Sales Director at PCL, added: “Simon’s appointment is key to growing the distribution side of the business, and with a strong understanding of how tooling works, different materials and manufacturing processes, we look forward to seeing the innovative product creations he will introduce to the range.”
