Prior to joining Dayco, Michael was the Vice President and General Manager of Schaeffler Group’s Thermal Management and Water Pump Bearings Division, responsible for 13 manufacturing and R&D centers throughout China, Korea, Mexico, Brazil, India and Europe. Before that he was Managing Director of Atesto, based in Japan, working extensively with Toyota and Honda. In his new role, Michael will be reporting directly to Dayco CEO Joel Wiegert, who said: “We are very pleased to have such a highly regarded industry executive join Dayco to deliver profitable growth of our powertrain segment. Michael’s track record of driving operational efficiency and successfully bringing new products into production fit perfectly with the significant opportunities Dayco is capitalizing on in the rapid growth of the hybrid electric vehicle segment.” EAG recruit sales person Excel Automotive Group (EAG) has appointed Tom Waites, who will be responsible for internal sales at the company. Tom comes directly from Universal Components, where he was also responsible for internal sales. Commenting on his new role, Tom said: “I am keen to develop into a stronger sales person, and with the change from commercial vehicle to passenger car, there is ample room for me to broaden my knowledge. I am delighted to be here, and I am looking forward to the new challenges and meeting a wide variety of customers.” Aftermarket grows team A new member of staff has joined Aftermarket magazine. Hannah Rusbridge has become the publication’s Sales Executive, with responsibility for selling advertising and liaising with Aftermarket’s wide client base. Commenting on her new role, Hannah said: “I’ve been welcomed with open arms by the team and the industry and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, embracing new challenges, and getting results.
