22 AFTERMARKET JUNE 2021 TOP TECHNICIAN AND TOP GARAGE www.toptechnicianonline.co.uk ONE STEP CLOSER The contestants for Top Technician and Top Garage are now set for 2021: Find out what’s next in store for them T he first rounds for both Top Technician and Top Garage 2021 closed on 31 May. The competitions only get bigger from this point, with more excitement and thrills to come. For those who did not get their entries in before the cut-off and over-shot the deadline, it means you will have to wait until the 2022 run begins. However, for those who got their entries in on time, the challenge is only going to become greater. Luckily, you are also one step closer to getting your hands on £30,000 in prizes at the Top Technician and Top Garage Awards Evening on Saturday 9 October, when the winners are announced. Surely that’s a price worth paying for a little short-term brain- ache? Next stages So, what’s next for the contestants in both competitions? For those looking to become the additional five semi- finalists in Top Technician, you will face a harder, faster and tougher second online quiz that will look to really push your abilities. If you passed the first round, we will let you know very soon, and then give you instructions for what comes next. This all leads to five additional contestants joining 2020’s 10 semi- finalists in September. 10 of these will be eliminated in the friendliest way possible, with the remaining five from 2020 and 2021 ultimately the final on Saturday 9 October. Meanwhile, over in Top Garage, those businesses that have successfully made it through round one will see a new stage begin, with a mixture of more in-depth analysis and testing online, and later mystery shopping of your businesses. You’ll never know if that next call is one of the Top Garage judges testing you, so be prepared! As we have told you before, whatever the size of your garage, at the final stages, businesses will compete in these categories: Businesses with 1-3 staff Businesses with 4-6 staff Businesses with 7-9 staff Businesses with 10-plus staff Beyond the online element and the mystery shopping, you will find yourself in front of the Top Garage panel of judges, including David Massey, Andy Savva and many others. The final takes place on Saturday 9 October, and later that evening the winners will be announced at the Top Technician and Top Garage Awards Evening, which is being held at the Jurys Inn Milton Keynes. The winners from both competitions will receive a major bundle of prizes from the sponsors, worth up to £30,000 as we said earlier. Watch this space for updates!
