62 AFTERMARKET JULY/AUGUST 2021 TRAINING www.aftermarketonline.net Upcoming training dates and news on courses TRAINING UPDATE Autotech Training is offering a pair of IMI- accredited A/C courses that also help garages meet F-Gas regulations. IMI Level 3 Automotive Refrigerant Handling is a one-day course that covers safe extraction and restoration of F-Gas from an A/C unit. Meanwhile, IMI Level 3, Automotive Air Conditioning Servicing and Maintenance covers refrigerant handling, as well as the servicing and repair of air conditioning units. Both courses are being delivered at Autotech Training’s learning facility within the Milton Keynes headquarters of Autotech Group. Commenting on the courses, Mandla Ndhlovu, Training Delivery Director for Autotech Training said: “It is essential that vehicle technicians, when servicing an air conditioning unit, have the skill set to effectively manage F-Gas and comply with regulations. Also, having the additional qualification to service and repair units will provide garages with a further revenue opportunity.” Mandla added: “With the increase in electric and hybrid vehicles on the market now, vehicle technicians should already be trained in EV safety ahead of attending the Automotive Air Conditioning Servicing and Maintenance course.” For more information visit https://autotechrecruit.co.uk/training/leve l-3-award-in-automotive-refrigerant- handling/ CSC comes into focus at REPXPERT training sessions The Schaeffler REPXPERT technical team had two more ‘Tea-break training’ sessions in June, focused on concentric slave cylinder (CSC) replacement. Commenting on the sessions, which took place on 1 June and 2 June respectively, Schaeffler Technical Manager and REPXPERT Alistair Mason said: “Presented by Bob Carter, one of our most experienced REPXPERTs, a veteran of over 50 years in the automotive industry, including the last 16 as a LuK technical trainer, these sessions concentrate on CSCs and are a must-see for workshops. CSCs are now a common repair for workshops, as almost half of all cars and vans use them nowadays, so providing technicians with a detailed overview of how they work, the common problems that occur and best practice solutions when replacing them, will be of real value. “The REPXPERT ethos to equip technicians with the products and knowledge to carry out the best possible repair, first time every time, runs through all of our training platforms and these live online events are no different. Understanding the issues surrounding CSCs and being able to avoid time consuming and costly mistakes makes this a perfect subject for our latest ‘Tea- break training’ module.” For more information go to www.repxpert.co.uk Welcome to Aftermarket’s training section.
