Kalimex and Mickel Motorsport launch Young Driver Programme Kalimex, in partnership with motorsport specialists Mickel Motorsport, has launched a brand-new Young Driver Programme. It aims to spot and nurture up-and-coming motorsport talent and help them progress from the junior ranks into senior club motorsport and beyond. Four young drivers are already signed up to the programme; Luke Simmons (Stocks and UK Legends), Oli Schlup (UK Legends), Luke Ttakoushis (UK Legends) and Wesley Wickens (5 Nations BMW Mini Rallycross Championship). John Mickel, MD at Mickel Motorsport, himself a multiple UK and world champion commented: "I see this programme as the ideal vehicle to pass on my experience and to help young racers take their first steps into competitive motorsport.” Mike Schlup, MD at Kalimex added: "It’s fantastic to help these young drivers embark on what could prove to be the most exciting journey of their life. Bryan Webb started his career at Hough & Whitmore in Gloucester. Thomas Ward acquired Hough & Whitmore in 1970, which was itself taken over by Skipper in 1975. Baylis Group, where Bryan worked as Warranty Administrator until this year, was awarded the Vauxhall franchise in 1994, when owner Michael Baylis purchased Skipper. Julian Bawdon, Director, Baylis, said: "I have only known Bryan for 14 years of his long career with the company and he is a credit to both Baylis and Vauxhall. I would like to thank him for his incredible loyalty and hard work, as well as wish him a long and happy retirement." Bryan Webb concluded: "I love to keep busy and have thoroughly enjoyed my 75 years with Baylis and Vauxhall.
