WITH UKS DISTRIBUTION National Refrigerants: R1234yf Legislation introduced in January 2017 meant all carmakers in Europe had to introduce new technology to reduce the global warming potential (GWP) of the refrigerant used in the air conditioning system. This change means that all new cars must run on technology containing refrigerant with a GWP of less than 150 in order to comply. By comparison, the refrigerant previously used was R-134a which has a GWP of 1,430. National Refrigerants was appointed as Honeywell’s Solstice R1234yf UK authorised re-packer and distributor in January 2013 and has been offering fully legally compliant material to ARI-700-2016 specification ever since.
