W ith life in the UK definitely back in full- swing, and the warm weather having just arrived, Ring decided to throw open its doors at its Leeds base a few weeks ago, and hold a special event to show its customers its new products, as well as the processes that help put some of those products on the shelves. This includes equipment for use in the workshop, as well as devices for sale to consumers, and naturally, bulbs. This was the first RingSight Day where the press was invited too, so we were there to find out more as well. Ring’s Managing Director Theresa Spencer opened proceedings: “You can call me biased when I say this, but I do think that at Ring, we've got something a little bit different, a little bit special. We want to give you a glimpse of what we are doing, who we are and the kind of products we are developing.” The attendees included representatives from factors big and small. To make it more manageable, they were split into four groups, who would work their way around the quartet of interest zones, some of which were inside the building on the outskirts of the city, and others that were set up outside to make the most of the mostly excellent May weather. Aftermarket’s journey through the interactive zones began inside the building, with the Lighting Zone. This includes workshop lights, as well as bulbs. Ring’s Craig Harrison walked us through the various ways in which the company’s products are put through their paces. This involves stress-testing for durability, as well as making sure that lighting is as effective as it can be. In the company’s Lighting Lab a number of devices and measures are deployed, including a photometric sphere, which before being opened looks like a large sea mine. “What
