68 n NEW PRODUCTS March 2019 www.drivesncontrols.com Softing has introduced an enhanced version of its Analyzer IE commissioning and diagnostics tool for Profinet networks. The new Analyser Pro tool combines Softing’s TH Scope and TH Link PC products, and monitors and diagnoses the health of industrial networks to ensure that field devices communicate reliably with PLCs. It needs no IT or network expertise to use. As well as Profinet, it also supports EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and Profibus. www.softing.com www.hitex.co.uk Phoenix Contact has released a new version of its TPS-1 single-chip Profinet device, making it possible to connect a Profinet device redundantly with two controllers (primary and backup), without changing the hardware or application software. Only the Profinet stack V1.6 has to be uploaded to the chip. A redundant controller system is then able to use the input or output data of the device. The TPS-1 with the new software supports the 2.35 Profinet standard without restrictions. www.phoenixcontact.co.uk Micro-Epsilon has launched a compact confocal chromatic displacement sensor for precise distance, position and thickness measurements on any type of surface – from dark, diffuse materials to reflective, shiny, mirrored, or even transparent, surfaces. The 12mm-diameter confocalDT IFS2404-2 sensor delivers a high resolution using a small laser spot (10µm diameter), and can be applied in tight spaces. The sensor has a measuring range of 2mm, a resolution of 40nm, and a linearity of ±1µm for distance and displacement measurements or ±2µm for thickness measurements. It is suitable for accurate measurements on reflecting or transparent surfaces, as well as one-sided measurement of the thickness of transparent film, plates or layers. The sensors can also be used on dark, diffuse materials, and in vacuums. The sensors are compatible with Micro-Epsilon’s confocal controllers, including its confocalDT 2421 and 2422 single- or dual-channel controllers. They work on a non- contact basis and are wear-free. Measurement data can be output in real time via EtherCat. Thickness calibration allows accurate thickness measurement over the sensor’s entire measuring range. Active exposure control of the CCD line allows fast, accurate compensation when measuring on different surfaces. The dynamic three-phase linear motors can deliver up to 3.69kN and accelerate at more than 200m/s², with the main applications expected to be in high-speed applications in the food and packaging industries. Water cooling can double the continuous force. A patent-pending encoder system allows standard servo controllers (up to 800V DC link voltage) to position the compact linear motors quickly, precisely and reliably. In addition to a built-in Sin/Cos linear encoder, other motor feedback variants (SSI, BISS and TTL) are planned. Also in the pipeline are pick-and-place modules, complete linear axes, and versions designed specifically for food industry applications. Dunkermotoren UK 0124 3833418 www.dunkermotoren.com Schaffner has announced a new generation of AC line reactors which, it says, weigh up to 50% less than previous generations. The RWK 3044 and RWK 3062 reactors are designed for 400V and 690V AC networks, and provide impedances of 4% and 2%, respectively. AC line reactors are used to protect VSDs, reduce harmonic currents, limit inrush currents, cut energy costs, and to improve power factors and the quality of input current waveforms. The new reactors reduce the risk of damage such as commutation notches, and comply with IEEE519-2014 (C.1). They are also claimed to reduce the burden on electrical infrastructure and to extend the service lives of electrical equipment. The RWK 3044 reactors are rated from 380–415V AC with current ratings from 2–1,000A, while the RWK 3062 series are rated from 500–690V AC and have current ratings from 1.5– 870A. They are available in IP00 open-frame versions and can be operated in ambient temperatures of 45°C without derating, or up to 100°C with derating. Schaffner www.schaffner.com New-generation AC line reactors are half the weight Thomson has introduced a ballscrew with more than twice the load capacity, or ten times longer service lives, than standard ballscrews at equivalent performance points. The high-load ballscrews are available in screw lengths up to 15m, with single or double nuts. They come in diameters up to 160mm, with dynamic load capacities up to 1,440kN. They are said to be ideal for demanding applications such as injection moulding, pressing and large fabrication equipment. The improvements in performance have been achieved by increasing the ball size and optimising the ball track design. The ballscrews can replace rollerscrews or hydraulic systems in applications with axes that need accurate and safe movement of heavy loads, long and reliable lives, and minimal maintenance. Thomson says that comparable rollerscrews cost 50% more and have nuts that are almost 50% larger, so the ballscrews will allow designers to cut costs while improving performance. Preloading options are available, and the ballscrews can be customised for specific applications. They provide smooth, quiet motion at high speeds. Lead accuracies are up to 12µm/300 mm.
