67 NEW PRODUCTS n NEW PRODUCTS n igus has introduced sealing rings for its iglidur maintenance-free plain bearings to provide additional hygiene and protection against extreme dirt accumulation. The flexible rings are available for all igus flanged bearings. The rings are simply slipped onto the flange and protect against the ingress of dirt andmedia into the plain bearing and components behind it. For applications that need extra lubrication, the ring ensures that the lubricants do not press out of the bearing, reducing wear and protecting the shaft against corrosion. www.igus.co.uk/iglidursealing Rockwell Automation has added five thin clients to its Allen-Bradley VersaView 5200 range: a single display; a dual display; a dual 4K display with a quad-core Intel AtomCPU; amulti 4K display with a quad-core i5 CPU (claimed to be the first to offer seven displays); and an integrated display. When usedwith Rockwell’s ThinManager software, the thin clients can receive information as soon as they are plugged in, without needing configuration. The softwaremanages content and visualisation, and provides multifactor user authentication, including biometric authentication using fingerprint scanning. www.rockwellautomation.co.uk B&R Automation has upgraded its AcoposMulti multiaxis servodrive to allow cycle times down to 50µs, thus controlling dynamic processes more precisely. B&R says that the short cycle times for current, speed and position control will open up newpossibilities for virtual sesnor technology. Using a virtual motor position encoder eliminates the need for an encoder, its cable and evaluation circuitry. www.br-automation.com RS Components is offering a range of PLCs, industrial PCs, intelligent communications modules, data acquisition devices and HMIs based on the Raspberry Pi platform. The modular, open-source Kunbus modules offer an inexpensive way of connecting automation processes and implementing IIoT. This modular system, which complies with the 61131-2 PLC standard, offers a choice of CPUs designed to be installed in DIN- rail housings. They come with USB, Ethernet and HDMI connections, and are based on the Raspberry Pi Compute module, making them compatible with the Raspberry Pi models 3 or B+. Depending on the application, the base modules can be expanded using digital or analogue I/O modules, as well as fieldbus gateways to connect them to industrial networks. For example, the RevPi Connect gateway, implemented as a DIN-rail PC or as a small controller, uses a modified version of the Raspbian operating system with a real- time patch, and supports common IIoT protocols such as MQTT and OPC UA. Applications can be programmed in a choice of languages, including Node- Red, Python and C. The gateway can be upgraded to support Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCat, Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU, without needing expansion modules. The Ethernet interfaces allow it to be integrated in IT and automation networks and to transmit data to the cloud. RS Components https://uk.rs-online.com/ web/b/kunbus Mclenann is offering a high- torque hazardous area microstepping motor with a continuous-duty power rating of about 250W, and a maximum speed of 2,200 rpm. The 134mm- diameter, 170mm-long AMP (Applied Motion Products) HX56- 100 motor has a Nema 56 frame and is certified for use in Class I, Zone 1 locations. When used with AMP’s matching STAC-6 microstepping drive, it provides an internationally certified motor-and-drive package for automation applications in potentially explosive atmospheres. The motor has an IP66/Type 4X rating. Its HazLoc certification covers Atex and IECEx for Class I, Zone 1 locations and UL certifications for Class 1, Div 1, and Group C & D locations. The STAC-6 hazardous area microstepping drive, which has a Class I, Zone 2 certification, supports step and direction, analogue voltage, PC or PLC host control. Step resolution is selectable from full/half-step to 51,200 steps/rev microstepping. Anti-resonance and torque- ripple-levelling algorithms ensure smooth, precise motion. AMP’s Q- Programming software provides graphical PC- based programming for simple machine sequencing. It can also be used to write and edit multi-tasking motion and machine control code with functions such as electronic gearbox, product registration and on-the-fly motion. Mclennan 01252 531444 www.mclennan.co.uk Rolec has launched a range of tough enclosures for housing machine controls. The IP65- protected profiPanel command enclosures can be mounted from the top or bottom on Rolec’s profiPlus 50 suspension arm system, or to a wall or machine housing using an optional 180- degree pivot bracket. The enclosures are available in sizes from 150–800mm x 150– 800mm. Their housings are made of extruded aluminiumwith light grey polyamide corner covers. There is choice of eight depths (60–300mm) to accommodate various types of display and control equipment. Internal rails simplify mounting. The front of the enclosures are made to measure, offering almost edgeless flush mounting of a front plate. The enclosures can be hinged with locks (for easy access) or bolted. Options include keyboard sections, ergonomic handle systems, keyboard andmouse trays, and wall/machine pivot mounts.
