61 www.drivesncontrols.com July/August 2019 NEW PRODUCTS n Honeywell has announced a rugged mobile computer which, it says, can streamline and error- proof operations in manufacturing environments and distribution centres. The CK65 computer supports a software ecosystem that includes voice-guided software and utilities that integrate with popular mobile device management and enterprise mobility management systems. The computer is built on Honeywell’s Mobility Edge platform – a hardware and software architecture with software tools that extend asset life, accelerate deployment and simplify the management of mobility systems. It is said to provide an easy path for users migrating fromWindows operating systems to the Android platform. The CK65 can read linear and 2D codes, including (with additional software) dot peen and laser-etched direct-parts- marked codes. It is claimed to be the most rugged device in its class, surviving 8ft drops onto concrete. The 7,000mAh battery allows the CK65 to run for 28 hours between changes. The computer is backwards- compatible with accessories for Honeywell’s CK3X and CK3R mobile computers, and adapts to FlexDock accessories owned by users of its CK71 and CK75 computers. It can be connected to Honeywell Operational Intelligence – a cloud-based platform that tracks, manages and optimises mobile computers. This and other software can be downloaded from the Honeywell Marketplace app store. Honeywell www.honeywell.com Phoenix Contact has announced a module that connects Profibus PA segments directly to Profinet networks. The Axioline P “modular proxy” communicates with a Profinet controller – for example, a distributed control system (DCS) – via a bus coupler. Up to eight Profibus PA segments can be connected to the proxy outlets in a compact way. A shield connection technology is available to ensure the segments are not affected by interference. FDT/DTM technology simplifies the start-up and device management both of the proxy station (which is integrated with higher-level control systems), and connected Profibus PA devices. Only one AXL P BK PN AF bus coupler is needed to implement S2 system redundancy. Two couplers are needed to satisfy Profinet system redundancy R1 and R2. A hot- swap capability ensures high system availability. The Profibus PA segment is supplied with power from a fieldbus power supply module. To ensure failsafe performance, two modules are installed in one base, thus supplying a Profibus PA segment redundantly. The Profibus PA sensor technology can be connected directly to the proxy device or via a device coupler. Fieldbus technologies such as Hart or Modbus/RTU can be integrated into Profinet networks via Profibus PA gateways that are connected to the proxy. This makes it easy to modernise existing systems. The Fluke PTi120 pocket imager has a temperature measuring range from –20°C to +150°C and allows quick scans of electrical panels, pumps and motors, building systems, HVAC and process control equipment, for hot or cold spots that could indicate signs of trouble. The 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen uses a technology that blends a visible image with the infrared image to help pinpoint problems. The blending can be adjusted simply by the sliding a finger across the screen. The rugged imager offers simple point-and-shoot operation with radiometric measurement, and a 120 x 90 infrared resolution. The device uses Fluke Connect Asset Tagging technology to scan an object’s QR or barcode, thus eliminating the need to sort and organise infrared images. The imager is designed to withstand a 1-metre drop and is mounted in an IP54 enclosure.
