n NEW PRODUCTS Mitsubishi claims that its latest slice-type remote I/O modules will simplify installations and cut costs with fast-fit connections and hot-swap capabilities, as well as online and onboard software for settings. The 11.5mm-wide NZ2FT series slices save rack space, allowing larger systems to be wired into smaller panels. Up to 64 modules can be connected in a row, potentially saving on hardware costs. The 16-point slices offer clip-in mounting, while status LEDs provide visual diagnostics. Push-in spring-clamp terminal blocks make wiring faster and easier. Detachable terminal blocks allow components to be wired-in and then plugged into the I/O block while it is in position, saving time. The blocks are set up using either Mitsubishi’s GXWorks3 software or a settings tool built into the communications modules. The tool includes functions such as monitoring/ diagnostics and functional tests, helping to cut engineering time and machine costs. Communications modules are available for the main industrial networking protocols. They can also provide power to a row of I/O modules. Power does not have to be manually wired-in because it is supplied through each slice. An extended power supply module is an option. The modules are hot-swappable for fast installation and reduced downtime during system changes. Mitsubishi Electric Europe +49 (0)2102 486-2150 https://eu3a.mitsubishielectric . com/fa/en/products/cnt/ plcccl/items/slice/local Nord has announced a range of “universal”motors, with CE, UL, CSA, CCC and EAC certifications, and meeting minimum efficiency levels for Europe, the US, Canada, Russia, China and other countries. The three-phase motors are also certified to Bureau Veritas for marine and offshore applications. The motors can be used with the following supplies: 380V, 50Hz; 400V, 50Hz; 415V, 50Hz; 460V, 60Hz; 440V, 60Hz and 480V, 60Hz. They are inverter-rated for constant- torque speed ranges from 5:1 to 1000:1, and have thermistor protection. The robust four-pole motors cover IEC frame sizes 63– 225, and are available with B3 foot, B5 flange or B14 face mountings. For the US, they can be supplied in Nema C-face and Nema foot-mount versions. They can also mount directly onto Nord gearboxes. As standard, the TEFC (totally enclosed fan-cooled) motors are protected to IP55 and have Class F insulation with windings that conform to Nema MG 1-2009 Section 31.4.4.2 with regards to voltage spike protection. They can also be supplied in IP66 versions, which means they are dust-tight and protected against powerful jets of water. There are lip seals on both ends of the motor shafts, gaskets between the stator body and end- covers, double-coated magnetic wire insulation, and a moisture- resistant varnish on the stator. Options include quick connectors, single or double protection canopies, space heaters, spring- applied brakes and forced ventilation. The new models have single-turn resolutions of 23 bits, while a mechanical gear with a 12-bit resolution is used for multi-turn versions. The encoders have been tested and approved by the Siemens’Drive-CLiQ Support Centre for use with its with Sinamics, Simotion and Sinumerik ranges. www.heidenhaingb.com HBM is offering a high-speed version of its T40B torque transducer which can measure at rotational speeds of up to 24,000 rpm (compared to a maximum continuous speed of 20,000 rpm for the standard version). The transducer provides an accuracy of 0.03% in terms of linearity deviation, including hysteresis error. The torque and the rotational speed signals can be integrated into EtherCat networks using the TIM-EC EtherCat interface module www.hbm.com 6HFXUH UHPRWH DFFHVV PDGH HDV\ ZZZ DSSOLHGDXWRPDWLRQ [ VWN VDOHV#[ VWN FRP QHZ 6LWHPDQDJHU [[ IURP Ž &RQQHFW PXOWLSOH GHYLFHV VLPXOWDQHRXVO\ Ž ,QWHOOLJHQW FORXG GDWD FROOHFWLRQ PRGXOH Ž (DV\ DQG ¿UHZDOO IULHQGO\ LQWHUQHW DFFHVV Ž 3HUVLVWHQW VWRUH DQG IRUZDUG GDWDEDVH Ž 'UDJ DQG GURS 6&$'$ WXQQHOOLQJ VHWXS Ž SRUW LQWHJUDWHG PDQDJHG VZLWFK S B resources, a
