n NEW PRODUCTS B&R has introduced a pair of compact motors with integrated drives, designed to cut installation costs and save cabinet space in modular plants and machinery. The ACOPOSmotor devices cover the power range to 0.35kW at 24– 60V DC, with the smaller version measuring just 60 x 90mm (w x h). Despite their small size, there is a full servodrive onboard, enabling control loops as fast as 50μs. The motors are optionally available with integrated gearboxes and brakes. There are two connections for hybrid cables that carry both the power supply and Powerlink communications. Only one cable is needed to link to the control cabinet. Extra motors can be added easily using daisy-chain cabling. 300-degree swivel connections also simplify installation. Because of the low operating voltages, no special training is needed to exchange the motors. Regenerative braking energy can be fed back into the DC bus, reducing energy consumption by up to 30%. The STO safety function is standard and is controlled via the hybrid cable, avoiding the need for extra cabling. Available encoder variants include multi-turn, multi- turn with battery, and single-turn types. he IP65-protected motors need neither fans nor heatsinks. The non-contact BMP sensors can issue warnings when a configurable limit value is violated. The wear-free magnetic sensors can detect the absolute position of a piston continuously, and are compatible with most types of cylinder. An internal counter monitors the operating hours over the life of the sensor, both since the last service and the last start-up. This can be used to plan for possible replacements at the next service. The IO-Link interface enables fast format changes thanks to time-saving parameterisation functions. The 7”Technoshot TS 1070S and the 10.2”TS 1100S have 800 x 480 pixel displays and incorporate a pass-through function that allows users to read and write to a connected PLC from a PC, via Ethernet or USB connections. The HMIs support external data storage, such as USB drives, for storing recipes and data. FTP can be used to upload and download files to the HMI remotely, allowing set-up data to be sent directly to remote machines or process systems. Drivers are available for all leading PLCs. Several PLCs, VSDs and other peripherals, such as barcode readers, can be connected concurrently. Cameras can be linked via Ethernet and their images shown on-screen to monitor production lines. Time-based or event- triggered trend sampling is possible and the data can be displayed as a graph. The HMIs have three serial, one Ethernet and two USB ports, and consume 16W at 24V DC. They are protected to IP65 when used with an appropriate gasket. Fuji Electric 01234 834768 www.fujielectric-europe.com Widescreen HMIs can be controlled remotely
