NEW PRODUCTS n Omron has announced a series of safety light curtains that provide finger, hand, arm/leg and body protection, and cover protective heights from 160– 2,480mm. The F3SG-SR curtains allow manufacturers to standardise mechanical designs across production lines, thus simplifying selection and design. One engineer can install the light curtains easily using a three-colour “area beam indicator” which shows the beam status from a distance. Almost anyone can replace the curtains and restart a machine simply by copying the configuration from an existing installation, storing it to a new one, then “plugging and working”. Status indicators facilitate the fine adjustment of beams for long-distance sensing and simplify error diagnosis. The light curtains are equipped with IO-Link which can be used to collect operating data and for predictive maintenance, reducing downtime and enhancing safety. The curtains can operate in temperatures down to –30°C and have IP67G protection, offering water and oil resistance, and ensuring stable operation even under harsh conditions. The Mack-Tron motors, manufactured by Axor Industries, are available in eight-pole versions up to 400W. The motors offer good performance-to-size ratios, and quick and easy cabling using hybrid cables that carry both power and signals. They are available with single- or multi-turn absolute encoders and have built-in STO (safe torque-off ) functions. There are three programmable digital inputs and the motors support CANopen, EtherCat and Modbus-RTU serial communications. The CLA system is said to cut costs and the risk of contamination. Iwis says that more than two-thirds of chain failures can be avoided using proper lubrication. A special applicator, made from PU foam, acts as a reservoir from which small quantities of lubricant are delivered continuously to the chain drive precisely where it is needed. The system avoids unnecessarily large volumes of oil from being dispensed onto the chain and its environment, while supplying sufficient lubricant. The system’s pumps can be operated using timer controls or they can be integrated into a machine’s PLC functions. The pump pressure of up to 70 bar can supply up to 16 lubrication points with oil without contaminating the environment or wasting lubricant. iwis drive systems 0121 5213600 www.iwisuk.com Compact servomotors have built-in drives Robust and reliable soft starter for low starting torque single phase motors Carlo Gavazzi UK Ltd. - 4.4 Frimley Business Park, Frimley, Camberley, Surrey GU16 7SG Tel: 01276 854 110 - www.
