60 n NEW PRODUCTS November/December 2019 www.drivesncontrols.com Sick has announced a pair of tough photoelectric sensors for use in harsh environments such as chemical washdowns or in the presence of aggressive oils, lubricants and dust. The Inox GR6 rectangular and GR18 cylindrical sensors have corrosion-resistant V4A (316L) stainless-steel housings rated up to IP69K, combined with screen coatings and seals that ensure high resistance to corrosive chemicals. The sensors can be used for through-beam, retro-reflective or proximity sensing. The GR6 model is no bigger than a sugar cube, while the GR18 Inox offers standard M18 thread-mounting. Precision PinPoint red light or infra-red LED light spot options combine with intelligent signal evaluation said to be immune to interference from ambient light, dirt, moisture, and electromagnetic fields. The sensors will operate in temperatures from –25°C to +55°C. Set-up and adjustment is simple, using a potentiometer and highly-visible indicator LEDs. The GR18 Inox comes either in a standard length or a space- saving short version, in M12 male connector or 2m cable variants, together with quick, space-saving mounting either in a through-hole or using a mounting bracket. Sick UK 01727 831121 www.sick.co.uk Mclennan is offering a miniature microstepping motor package that combines a closed-loop digital drive, feedback encoder, and an Ethernet-supporting motion controller, to provide single-cable positioning. The TSM14POE motor, from US- based Applied Motion Products (AMP), supports Power-over- Ethernet (PoE) and is aimed at miniature, decentralised automation tasks where it can save time and costs through its simple wiring and compactness. The Nema size 14 motor can be applied to existing PoE-linked devices or to miniature automated devices in applications such as robotics, end-effectors and small actuators. It uses AMP’s StepServo technology which provides high torque, acceleration and efficiency, with low motor heating and audible noise, compared to conventional open-loop stepper systems. The drive stage is combined with a 4096 ppr magnetic encoder to provide accurate positioning and speed feedback via Ethernet protocols including Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP. Motion control via AMP’s Q Programming language allows axis positioning plus motion profiles with mathematical and conditional functions, along with stored program execution for machine interaction over Ethernet. The motors are available with low-backlash planetary gearheads in a choice of ratios for increased torque performance. Mclennan 01252 531444 www.mclennan.co.uk LG Motion is offering a single- axis servomotor controller incorporating advanced feedback, which is able to drive most types of motor including stepper, brushless servo, linear, shaft, DC and voice coil types. The Arcus Titan–SVH-ETH controller incorporates a patent- pending “motion edge intelligence” capability that can monitor a motion system in the real-time, collect and analyse its data, and make critical decisions to prevent failures and downtime. Called 2ndSight, the technology applies complex machine learning, smart analytical, statistical and regression techniques to quantify and determine the state of health of any motion system. Built-in motion control functions include auto parameter detection, auto tuning, force/torque control, and multi- thread motion programming. Intuitive software is said to allow almost anyone to start up a servo system within minutes. The controller supports Ethernet, USB and RS-485 communications. LG Motion 01256 365600 www.lg-motion.co.uk Tough stainless-steel photo sensors have IP69K ratings Miniature integrated stepper motor supports Power- over-Ethernet Servomotor controller includes smart motion analysis functions ControlTechniques has announced variants of its Unidrive M700 and M702 high-performance drives that support Profinet RT. Previously, users needed an SI- Profinet option module to implement Profinet. The new variants remove that requirement and free up the drives’three option module slots. By using EtherCat, Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen or CTnet modules, users can create complex integrated systems from multiple protocols on one network, for the cost of an Ethernet cable. www.controltechniques.com Siemens has produced a failsafe soft-starter with a built-in STO (safe torque-off) function, ensuring that torque-generating energy stops when motors are turned off, preventing unwanted restarts. The Sirius 3RW55 Failsafe soft-starter avoids the need to use separate components, reducing wiring time and costs, and saving space in control cabinets. The switching time is also said to be much faster than when using separate electromechanical components. www.siemens.com/softstarter Kollmorgen has launched low- voltage frame 3 versions of its AKM2G servomotors, which deliver continuous torque levels from 0.6– 9Nmwith peaks of up to 27Nm. The motors, for use on 24, 48, 72 and 96V DC supplies, support feedback from optical encoders, resolvers, Hiperface DSL and EnDat. www.kollmorgen.com igus has introduced a new coating material for lubrication-free sliding of metal components in tight spaces. The iglidur coating provides the components with the wear and sliding properties of its maintenance-free iglidur materials. The coating was developed for applications where a classic shaft- bearing combination is not possible, such as in valves and pistons. For applications such as guide plates in material handling, the coating makes the surface more slippery and protects the underlying metal from corrosion. www.igus.co.uk/iglidurcoatings HMS Networks has announced new features for itsTalk2M Easy Setup framework for Ewon products, simplifying secure remote machine access. A new version of Connection Checker provides clear diagnostics and reports on the connection status and performance between Ewon- connectedmachines in a factory and theTalk2M remote access cloud service. The eCatcher Remote Access software has been updated to identify IP address conflicts, offering auto-healing capabilitie based on common Internet connectivity issues in the field. www.ewon.biz
