The SCT sensors include ring-type and split-core devices, as well as three-phase CT sets. The current transformers make it possible to implement reliable power sensor technology as a component of PC-based controls. The scalable sensors are suitable for a variety of applications. The ring-type transformers are aimed at cost-effective, accurate data acquisition in new installations, while the easy-to-install split-core CTs are ideal for retrofitting. The CTs provide an integrated power measurement chain from the sensor to the cloud, simplifying energy management and improving the availability of machines and systems. Users can perform inline analyses, for example, to detect any deviations in current consumption and take quick corrective action to minimise downtime. Beckhoff 01491 410539 www.beckhoff.co.uk Carlo Gavazzi has launched a series of stainless-steel proximity inductive sensors for applications where space is limited and where non-contact detection of metal objects is required. The four-wire ICS08 sensors come in an M8 format with an operating distance of up to 4mm. They have a high operating frequency, making them suitable for monitoring rotational speeds. The IP67-protected sensors will withstand water and humidity. They are available in short or long housings, in flush or non-flush versions, and with M8 plug or cable outputs. There is a choice between PNP and NPN versions, both with NO or NC options. Built-in diagnostics use flashing LEDs to indicate short circuits or overloads, while an integrated micro controller ensures stability in a range of environmental conditions, including operating temperatures from –25 to +80°C . The K1-L system succeeds the K1 system launched in 1996 and can supply oil for nearly twice as long, ensuring extended maintenance-free operation. The system cuts resource and energy consumption through long service lives, low friction and reduced oil usage. Relying on regular maintenance to apply lubricant to linear guides is time- consuming and costly, particularly as it requires machinery to be stopped. The new system overcomes this by improving the capacity of the lubricating oil supply, thus extending maintenance intervals. The result is an increase in uptime and productivity, while maintenance costs are cut. A newly developed resin allows oil to be supplied for nearly twice as long as the K1 system. The special shape of the K1-L reduces dynamic friction forces by about 20% when the slider moves along the rail of a guide, while a newly developed protective casing helps to maintain structural integrity and to impede the entry/release of dust and other particles. Initially, the K1-L will be available for NSK’s standard NH and NS series of linear guides, and will be extended to other models in future. NSK Europe 00 49 2102 4811280 www.nskeurope.com HMS Networks has announced a new line of switches and wireless routers for next- generation industrial wireless communications, including 5G. The Anybus Layer 2 and 3 products combine high capacity and reliability, with mobility and low latency. The rugged devices offer advanced functions for network segmentation and protection, redundancy and data traffic analysis, allowing effective integration between OT and IT systems, and support industrial Ethernet protocols such as Profinet and EtherNet/IP. The wireless routers for LTE and WLAN connections can be used world-wide, independent of local regulations. Upcoming additions will also include 5G- ready cellular routers. A range of redundancy technologies ensures uninterrupted operation and helps to protect critical data. The intelligent Anybus L2 and L3 switches provide Gigabit throughput. Multiple redundancy and cyber-security functions allow users to build reliable, secure networks. HMS Industrial 01926 405599 www.anybus.com After extensive testing, the European Hygienic Engineering&Design Group (EHEDG) has awarded Class 1 certification to Interroll’s drummotor platform, providing food, pharmaceutical and packaging sectors with an energy-saving drive for material flow that meets the highest hygiene standards.Themotors also comply with the requirements of the US Department of Agriculture /FDA and EU Regulation EG 1935/2004 for use in the food industry. www.interroll.com Micro-Epsilon has introduced a PC interface that enables absolute synchronous capture of digital sensor signals and encoder data. The IF2008 card fits into PCI Express slots and allows signals to be captured from four digital sensors and two encoders. There is also an expansion board (IF2008E ) that adds sensor inputs, ADC inputs, and optocoupler inputs and outputs. Using both cards, six digital sensors, two analogue sensors and two encoders can be connected. www.micro-epsilon.co.uk
