The eddyNCDT 3070 system is designed to work with a range of sub-miniature sensors with measuring ranges of less than 1mm that can measure to sub-micron accuracies with frequency responses up to 20kHz. The system comprises a compact controller, sensor and sensor cable, and can be factory-calibrated for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Typical applications include the measurement of shaft movement, lubrication gaps, thermal expansion, and the monitoring of machines in high-speed, automated production environments. If two or more systems operate next to each other, they do not need to be synchronised – a frequency separation function allows them to operate in parallel without affecting each other. Micro-Epsilon 0151 355 6070 www.micro-epsilon.co.uk The UK positioning technology manufacturer Overview has announced a direct-drive, integrated servomotor with a wide dynamic speed range (0.05–720 degrees/second), 0.007-degree repeatability and 1Nm of output torque. The Miranda motor fills a torque gap in Overview’s Servotorq series of direct-drive, servomotors, which are designed to deliver high positional accuracy with fast, smooth and silent motion. The 24V DC servomotor combines an efficient, in-house- designed brushless DC motor with an advanced controller, high-performance servo and precision rotary encoder in a direct-drive package that includes I/O and communications interfaces. The drive control electronics and software provide closed-loop servo control, and deliver position, velocity and acceleration control. The easy-to-install, zero- backlash motor is said to provide rapid and precise position control, with low power consumption, in a compact, lightweight package. The components of the VisionSystem2D system can be combined and adapted to suit an application, with focal lengths, focusing, resolution, lighting, and type of evaluation, being selected separately. Up to 16 digital cameras with Sony’s Pregius image chips deliver 1.6 or 5 megapixel images in colour or monochrome, even in dynamic applications. C-mount lenses can be attached to the cameras to implement either close-up or long-range applications. Three different types of illumination – rings, spotlights or backlights – can be chosen in different sizes and colours. Red or infrared lighting in flash or continuous mode are available, as is white light. All processing is performed by a fanless PC-based controller with an i3 or i7 processor. Pre-installed uniVision software is used to configure parameters and to evaluate the images. A built-in Web server allows the results can be viewed in any browser. wenglor sensoric 01536 313580 www.wenglor.com Eplan is offering free trial versions of its eView and eBuild software packages, and is planning to release a series of webinars and training videos to help users to make the most of the trials. eView allows designers and users to work closely together on projects, helping to speed up the design review procedure as well as reducing the need for design revisions and reworking, resulting in cost savings. It also allows engineering projects generated using the Eplan Platform to be accessed via the cloud. Project data can be viewed anytime, anywhere, and by anyone who with approved access. A red-lining function allows customers, shopfloor workers and maintenance engineers to suggest changes to a project, which are then accessible to the design engineers. The eBuild configuration-based automation software simplifies the changeover to automated working methods by enabling design engineers to generate electrical and fluid schematics at the push of a button – without needing expert knowledge, specialist programming capabilities or extensive training.
