EX260: Fieldbus 2-wire system (outputs only) With our EX260, the D-sub section at the end of the valve is replaced with a network connection node. Rather than wiring the multi core D-sub cable, the connection node functions as a simple plug and play solution, freeing labour resources and allowing management to divert their skilled workforce to other key responsibilities. Further user benefits: • Fully assembled manifold • Drives of up to 32 solenoids • Modular options allow bespoke configuration • Daisy-chain communication wiring option EX250: Fieldbus 2 wire system (input & outputs) The EX250 provides digital I/O connectivity as a single network node, along with other devices on the same network. This incorporates both inputs and outputs from other system devices such as, 2 port solenoid valves, sensors and temperature monitoring equipment. Further user benefits: • Flexibility with a combination of up to 10 inputs or output slices • Controls up to 32 inputs and 32 outputs, including • Modular options allow bespoke configuration the valve solenoids EX500: Fieldbus decentralised gateway and web server EX500 serves as a gateway designed to handle a larger volume of inputs and outputs. Connectivity to multiple valve manifolds and separate input blocks is achievable without the extra cost of a fieldbus node to each valve manifold system. Further user benefits: • Placing valves near actuators for reduced piping • Keeping system architecture decluttered with simple wiring • Up to 128 digital inputs/128 outputs • Web server function enables remote diagnostic and testing EX600: Web server – Full digital, analogue & IO-Link capability The EX600 web server model is an intelligent input/output valve island equipped to handle both analogue and digital signals. Further user benefits: • Self-diagnosis functions available over the network and optional handheld terminal operation • System monitoring over the internet webserver • Webserver parametrisation speeds up machine set-up • Inputs from pressure switches, flow switches, proximity • Outputs to valve manifolds, indicator lights, relays, EX600 Wireless: Full wireless connectivity and web server Winner of ‘Technical Innovation of the Year’ category at the 2019 Motion Control Industry Awards, the EX600 Wireless system is the final stage on the SMC connectivity spectrum. This integrated valve system was developed as a wireless solution on the robots of a global Japanese car manufacturer. This product was designed to eliminate issues associated with the downtime experienced when attempting to replace or fix a damaged communication cable running through a robot. Further user benefits: • Extensive capability in digital and analogue inputs/outputs helping customers enable Smart Production technology • Up to 1280 inputs/1280 outputs • Significant savings in both commissioning time and wiring • Removes cost and risk of damaged communication cables • Suitable for use in welding environments due to robust design Furthermore, feedback from SMC production OEMs who have adopted the EX600 Wireless system have verified and reported gaining the ability to build machines quicker, resulting in invoicing and shipping machines to end-users with reduced lead times. and commissioning sensors etc buzzers etc Regardless of the stage you’re currently undertaking or considering, SMC’s specialist Drives & Networks team can help machine builders achieve growth by helping adopt the relevant applications on the connectivity spectrum.
