The HabasitLink M2592 raised deck radius belt needs one fifth of the floorspace needed for traditional radius conveyors, while the M0870 HighGrip Micropitch 0.3” version has a 50% smaller minimum transfer distance, enabling use of grip-top plastic belts on nosebar applications with knife edges down to 6mm. Until now, says Habasit, plastic modular belts with grip tops were not available for tight transfer conveyors. The new HighGrip Micropitch 0.3” belt positions products reliably with no slippage and with transfers as narrow as 23mm – half the size of other grip-top modular belts. The high-grip surface allows higher operating speeds in some applications because of reduced product slippage. It also said to cope better with inclines and declines than traditional modular belts. The second arrival, the M2592 Radius Raised Deck 1”, allows users to optimise line layouts and reduce conveyor system footprints. The five-fold reduction in floorspace offers flexibility for plant layouts. The raised deck can handle products in a variety of sizes, without interference from lateral wear- strips. The plastic belts are said to quieter than rollers or chains, improving the working environment, while helping to protect transported items from damage. Habasit International (41) 61 715 15 15 www.habasit.com Fluke has announced a series of three-phase power quality (PQ) analysers that, it says, eliminate the complexities of PQ logging, troubleshooting and analysis by offering automatic measurements, easy set-ups, best-in-class specifications, and simple reporting. The Fluke 1770 Series analysers capture more than 500 PQ parameters by default, ensuring that critical PQ events are not missed – including fast transients up to 8kV, harmonics up to 30kHz, dips and swells, as well as voltage, current, and power. The instruments can capture potentially damaging large, high-speed voltage transients, allowing users to mitigate their effects before equipment fails. Fluke says that the new instruments capture transients faster than ever before. With a sample rate of 20 megasamples/s, users can capture, troubleshoot, and mitigate the most damaging PQ issues. The analysers come with Fluke’s Energy Analyze Plus software, which analyses PQ data without extensive training. It allows users to compare results with historical values, benchmark against industry norms, relate measured data to local conditions, and create a picture of what’s occurring across a plant while the data is being collected. With a few clicks, visitors can embark on a virtual voyages of discovery, either by themselves or with Pilz experts. A digital exhibition area provides information on new products. A virtual packaging machine depicts the components and systems used, and provides information about product functions and innovations. The showroom also offers technical information on safety and security. The showroom will be updated and developed continuously. https://www.discover-your-automation.com White Paper helps you design TSN-compatible products The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) has published aWhite Paper to help automation device vendors to offer products that are Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) compatible. Called Getting your TSN product tomarket , it provides practical advice on implementing TSN and the importance of conformance testing. The paper discusses how to integrate TSN-compatible functions in existing devices, and acts as an entry point for vendors to adopt CC-Link IE TSN,“the first and only open industrial gigabit Ethernet with TSN functions”. The paper also stresses the importance of independent third-party conformance testing to validate product performance, and explains the CLPA’s process for certifying CC-Link IE TSN automation devices. https://eu.cc-link.org/en/campaign/2021/tsnwp Tool configures special machining for shafts in real time Thomson Industries has added a real-time machining configuration capability to its online shaft selector tool. The new functions cut the time spent customising round-rail shafts to minutes rather than hours or days. The original selector allowed users to specify materials, size or other characteristics. The extended version lets them configure special machining such as threads, reductions, ring grooves or radial holes. It provides 2D drawings that update in real time to reflect how configuration changes affect the design, pricing and lead times. It also avoids compatibility errors. https://www.thomsonlinear.com/en/products/shafting#products Podcast panels examine the world of robotics ABB has announced a second series of The Robot Podcast, which explores of the world of robots and their potential benefits to society and industry.
