The catalogue can be viewed as a dynamic e-book, downloaded as a PDF, or requested in a hard copy version. www.transdev.co.uk/catalogue Digitalisation effects on motor-driven systems A new report from the International Energy Agency’s Electric Motor Systems Annex (Emsa) programme classifies digitalisation technologies that could be used for the analysis of energy effects in motor-driven systems. Technologies covered include sensors, the Internet of Things, digital twins, AI, cloud-based services and augmented reality. While digital technologies can help identify opportunities for energy savings, the report says that these will only be realised once this information is acted upon. Emsa is undertaking further research to provide more information and clarity, especially on examples of applications, as well as on communications and data analysis applications used to optimise energy use. https://drivesncontrols.news/26g69p Tool analyses how much energy automation products use Festo is offering an engineering tool that compares how much energy automation products consume when in use and how this influences their total cost of ownership (TCO). Users enter the parameters of an application into the CO 2 and TCO Guide and it suggests suitable pneumatic and electric drive technologies. Machine-builders can use the tool to decide which parameters are the most important, and which drive technologies to pick, on the basis of factors such as costs (procurement, energy and operating), energy consumption and CO 2 emissions. https://drivesncontrols.news/8rrsp7 Web site includes warehouse automation case studies The Cranfield-based software developer and warehouse automation integrator, Invar Group , has launched aWeb site to guide businesses through warehouse upgrades and digitalisation projects, highlighting areas where advanced technologies can transform performance.
