HYDRAULICS ROSS Controls has introduced its new Hydraulic Block & Bleed valve systems designed for external monitoring, up to Category- 4, PL e for safety applications. ROSS – already known for its pneumatic safety-related valves and solutions – now expands on these strengths to offer solutions for users of hydraulic systems. Tamper-resistant design The ROSS Hydraulic Block & Bleed Series features a manifold base mounted design available in three body sizes D03, D05, and D07, port sizes SAE-8, SAE-12, and 1-1/4 Code 61 flange. These valve systems feature a relief valve on inlet and position sensors for external monitoring. The HBB Series valve system is enhanced with a tamper-resistant design that prevents unauthorised personnel from altering the valve. The safety function of the Hydraulic Block & Bleed Series valve system is to block hydraulic supply pressure and to bleed downstream pressure back to tank. The ROSS HBB Series safety system is a redundant 3/2 normally closed function valve system, spool type design, direct solenoid or solenoid pilot operated. This new system is designed for external monitoring for safe redundant operation and is equipped with position sensors for external monitoring by an electrical safety control system. www.rosscontrols.com ROSS Controls launches new hydraulic HBB Series safety valve systems Moog – the designer and manufacturer of high-performance motion control products, solutions and services – has launched a new version of its D680 Series proportional valve. The D680 Series comprises throttle valves for 2-, 3-, 4- and 5- way applications, suitable for electrohydraulic position, velocity, flow and force control in hydraulic systems. The D680 product range has integrated electronics and is suitable for applications with high dynamic response requirements. The newly launched version in this series is a two-stage valve with a closed loop controlled D633 direct drive servo valve as the pilot stage. This latest version of the product provides increased dynamics, repeatability and is more robust than the existing version, making it suitable for use in even the most demanding environments. The D633 direct drive servo valve pilot stage with open loop control has been available for many years. Moog developed the new version in conjunction with machine builders in the plastics metal forming, presses and steel production sectors, better to meet the needs of these applications. The new pilot stage option is ideal for applications requiring high dynamic performance, where longer service life and energy efficiency are critical. Easy integration Moog comments that its D680 Series proportional valve series is a proven design that provides reliable control for machinery in industries such as injection and blow moulding, die-casting, steel production, metal forming and presses and lumber processing. This product range can be easily integrated in new designs and configured to meet the exact application and performance requirements of industrial machinery and equipment. Moog launches new version of its D680 Series proportional valve In addition to the existing series’ proven dynamic performance, the latest D680 proportional valve design is robust, reliable, has the benefit of a long service life and can offer significant energy savings. Dr. Marco Wiegandt, Moog valve development engineering manager, commented: “Our customers in the injection molding, die casting and metal forming and press markets trust the performance and reliability of Moog’s servo valve products. Some of our lead customers have enjoyed greater repeatability and a long service life by using this energy efficient, robust design. In machine applications where high accuracy and repeatability are required, the new D680 Series proportional valve with a closed loop D633 pilot valve is an excellent choice.” www.moog.com/industrial 28 HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS October 2018 www.hpmag.co.uk
