BFPA Technical Standards work second to none BFPA News Contact the BFPA at Tel: +44 (0)1608 647900 • Fax: +44 (0)1608 647919 • Email: enquiries@bfpa.co.uk • Web: www.bfpa.co.uk UPDATES BFPA member satisfaction surveys over the years have repeatedly shown how valuable our members believe the BFPA technical standards development work is to the industry, and for some it is the main reason they are members. 2018 was yet another successful year for the various BFPA Technical Committees, which were responsible for the revision, development and publication of no less than 31 technical standards relating to fluid power. BFPA’s Standards Projects Manager Yvonne Pearman commented: “Of the international standards and technical reports published and contributed to in 2018, two important technical reports emerged following BFPA’s and CETOP’s input and lobbying for the fluid power industry’s position in relation to the EcoDesign Directive 2009/125/EC with regards to energy efficiency. She added: “As technical reports they are valid for three years, after which, ballots to review their status will be held to consider whether they should be developed as international standards.” For any more information on hydraulic and pneumatic technical standards a full list of all the 31 standards published in 2018, or to find out more about the BFPA Technical Committees and how you could become involved, please contact Yvonne Pearman at the BFPA yvonne@bfpa.co.uk 30 April 2019 Embracing Digitalisation Seminar 9 May 2019 FPIGS Golf Day 15 May 2019 BFPA Board, AGM 21 June 2019 60th Anniversary Dinner and Ball BFPA Training Courses 8 April 2019 Foundation Course in Working Safely with Hydraulic Hose & Connectors 9-10 April 2019 Hose Assembly Skills Training Programme 11 April 2019 Hydrostatic Proof Pressure Testing 12 April 2019 Hose Integrity, Inspection & Management Training Course 29 April 2019 Small Bore Tube Training Programme Visit www.bfpatrainingacademy.co.uk for more information on BFPA’s training courses.
