Andreas Nagel, who founded Micron Eagle Hydraulics in 1990, is stepping up to the role of chairman. He has latterly been managing director at the Aberdeenshire business and is assuming the chairmanship now that he has the right team in place to take the business to the next level. Ian Gibson, who joined Micron Eagle in 1999, has been promoted from operations director to managing director, while – in a further move to support growth plans – previous business development manager Mark Burnett has been appointed business development director. Director Henry Nagel, who is based at the company’s Houston operation in the USA, joins the Micron Eagle board, joining his father Andreas, together with Gibson, Burnett, technical director Angus Mitchell, finance director Karen Henderson and non-executive director Neil Grimmond. The new- look board collectively has 190 years of business expertise. Micron Eagle Hydraulics, based in Blackburn, near Aberdeen, has built a global reputation in the hydraulics services, maintenance, repair and rental markets. It is also a part owner of Integrated solutions specialist, EnerMech, has appointed James Compston as strategic sales director in a drive to ramp up activities in the international energy and infrastructure sectors. Compston will be responsible for driving the strategy, pursuit and delivery of multi-million-pound contracts with a focus on the global defence, renewables, integrity management and infrastructure markets. Since 2013, Compston was senior vice president of business development at SNC Lavalin incorporating since 2017, WS Atkins. He also spent 13 years with PwC where he led non-audit services to clients including global operators, oilfield services, engineering and construction. In his early career, he held a commission in the British Army to the rank of Major and was involved in NATO operations. Based in the UK, he will take the lead in developing strategy and securing multi- million-pound contracts with a focus on the global defence, renewables, integrity management and infrastructure markets. Working with EnerMech’s chief development officer, Behzad Kazerani, and reporting directly to chief executive officer Christian Brown, he will work alongside John Grover who is based in Dubai and holds the same remit for developing EnerMech’s business in the eastern hemisphere. Compston comments: “EnerMech is well-established in the traditional energy sectors and I will be looking to borrow on that success and to develop its footprint in new markets. The integrated services we can offer and our highly skilled workforce and track record for completing complex workscopes, puts us in a strong position to take our business to the next level.” Strategic sales director appointment at EnerMech Dirk Mylich has assumed the new position of Bunting’s European recycling product manager. The company comments that this appointment reflects the ever-growing importance of environmental management in Europe and the necessity of employing technology to successfully recover and recycle secondary materials such as metal and plastic. Bunting is a designer and manufacturer of magnetic separators, eddy current separators and electrostatic separators for the recycling and waste industries. The Bunting European manufacturing and product testing facilities are in Redditch, just outside Birmingham, and Berkhamsted. Since graduating as an engineer in waste management at the University of Applied Science Magdeburg- Stendal in Germany, Mylich has acquired over 13 years of experience working for recycling technology companies. Since 2008, his focus has been on material separation, including implementing best-practice methods for metal separation in secondary metal recycling operations in both North America and Europe. In recent years, Bunting has developed a reputation in the recycling and waste sector as one of the leading designers and manufacturers of metal separation and recovery technology. The extensive equipment portfolio includes high-intensity magnetic separators to recover fragmented stainless-steel; eddy current separators to separate both large and small non-ferrous metals, and the new electrostatic separator for enhanced separation of fine metals such as copper wire and other small metal particles. Product development is ongoing with new metal separators scheduled for release in 2021. Simon Ayling, Bunting’s European managing director, says: “The appointment of Dirk brings additional knowledge and expertise to our sales team. From his base in Germany, Dirk will provide local support for our existing and potential customers in the region. He will also support our network of salespeople and representatives across Europe.
