Hydraulics & Pneumatics October 2022

NEWS It is 32 years since group chairman Jeremy Clear purchased Automatic Valve Systems (AVS); providing the foundations for the company known today as Camozzi Automation Ltd. Since its formation in 1971, AVS carved a niche as a distributor of high- quality fluid power products sourced from a number of Italian suppliers. Among these suppliers was Camozzi SpA, a company founded by brothers, Attilio, Luigi and Geromino Camozzi, to initially produce brass nickel-plated fittings, but which then began growing significantly, with new state of the art production facilities and the formation of a network of Camozzi subsidiaries worldwide. An expanding product portfolio included cylinders, valves and air preparation units, but it was fittings that really paved the way for Camozzi, becoming what it believes to be the largest producer of brass nickel-plated fittings, with innovative push-in technology From the beginning, Camozzi UK quickly established a strong distribution network, providing quality products, technical expertise, high stock levels and quick turnaround of cylinders, special assemblies, components and solutions, while steadily gaining a reputation for the highest levels of customer service and a ‘can do’ approach to meeting customers’ needs. One such service is the Cylinder Workshop, which was expanded in 2009, enabling Camozzi to produce standard and non-standard cylinders and meet increased customer demand for rapid turnaround. Automation Centre Camozzi enhanced its capabilities further in 2016 with the opening of the Automation Centre, catering for new market demands and offering customers in-house bespoke solutions, from concept to delivery, backed up by technical excellence. The development of new products, and integrated approaches, together with the demand for more sophisticated solutions, synonymous with Industry 4.0 and SMART Automation, led the Camozzi Group to reflect this status and rebrand from Camozzi Pneumatics to Camozzi Automation in 2018. A product demonstrating this technological progression is the valve island. Camozzi recently launched a fifth-generation valve island, The Series D, which is one of the most exciting and comprehensive products to reach the market, with its CoilVision technology, which constantly monitors the operation of the solenoids. With fittings production at its core, it seems all the more appropriate that in 2022 Camozzi Automation is on the cusp of launching its next generation push-in fitting range developed to satisfy the needs of a variety of market applications: from industrial automation to medical devices and fluidic systems. Celebrations begin In May 2022, following a two-year travel hiatus, Camozzi’s directors and external sales team were finally able to begin celebrating their 30-year anniversary by visiting the company’s Italian production facilities, followed by dinner and a presentation from Marco Camozzi, Camozzi Automation SpA managing director. Camozzi reports that it was a hugely enjoyable evening and very much appreciated by all. Adrian Farnham, Camozzi Automation Ltd managing director, comments: “It continues to be, a pleasure to be part of such a progressive forward-thinking company. The level of investment in production, expertise and other resources is phenomenal, and it’s hugely exciting to be on this journey. “Camozzi’s team; many of whom have been with us for decades, are renowned for their expertise, enthusiasm and willingness to exceed customer expectations, and it is thanks to them, our suppliers, distributors and ever-expanding customer base, that the company is where it is today.” Group Chairman Jeremy Clear concludes: “The continued success of Camozzi in the UK is a credit to all those involved, past present and future, and I would personally like to extend my gratitude to everyone for all their hard work and commitment in helping us reach this significant milestone.” The company is looking forward to celebrating the 30th anniversary with a party for everyone at Camozzi Automation Ltd. 10 HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS October 2022 www.hpmag.co.uk Camozzi Automation Ltd celebrates its 30th anniversary Camozzi Automation Ltd directors in celebratory mood.
