HYDRAULICS 28 HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS April/May 2023 www.hpmag.co.uk Celeros Flow Technology has developed a new, high-performance range of Liquid/Liquid (L/L) Coalescers for separating hydrocarbons from water phases. Offering a verified efficiency to <10ppm and excellent contaminant capture rates, UNIQ-FLOW Liquid/Liquid Coalescers enable a reduction in vessel size and a longer time between filter changes, which results in a lower total cost of ownership (TCO). The manufacturer says UNIQFLOW L/L coalescers are designed to help customers improve product quality, reduce or remove unwanted haze and impurities, and recover other valuable products. Typical applications include biofuels, condensate cooling, MEG removal, amine gas sweetening, removal of water from diesel, kerosine or condensates, recovery of hydrocarbons from water, and glycol applications. UNIQ-FLOW L/L Coalescers were performance tested against their nearest rivals in the market using ASTM test standards and jet fuel as the test medium. The manufacturer says the test results New Liquid/Liquid Coalescers pass the test for improved filtration showed that UNIQ-FLOW L/L Coalescers both met and exceeded the in-service efficiency threshold of 20ppm stipulated in many leading end user specifications and could also meet more stringent <10ppm thresholds. Droplet sizes observed during testing were considerably larger than expected, which shortens the separation distance significantly and reduces the overall length of the vessel. Flux rate (flow per cartridge) was also higher than originally envisaged. A clear interface between water and fuel and excellent stable droplet formation were also observed. UNIQ-FLOW L/L Coalescers are equipped with both pleated polymer & glass fibre filtration media in absolute ratings at 10 microns. They are available in standard size ranges or can be custom designed to meet individual process requirements for optimum performance. Housing constructions are offered in a range of carbon, alloy, stainless steel and duplex stainless-steel materials with alloy 625 / 825 overlayed materials. Each unit is designed specific to end user code requirements including ASME U-1, PED, GB-150 and PD5500, amongst others. https://celerosft.com Danfoss Power Solutions has launched its PC-GO propel solution for single pump/motor hydrostatic transmissions. Comprising the new PC036 safety controller and PC-GO propel software, the ready-to-use platform cuts propel subsystem development time by up to 35% while simplifying compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The software is ideal for a wide variety of applications, including wheel loaders, telehandlers, dump trucks, street sweepers, and forestry equipment. PC-GO is a fully developed propel system software solution that’s configurable using the Danfoss PLUS+1 service tool for quick and simple customisation. Housed on the PC036 controller, the system is designed to work with Danfoss hydrostatic pumps and motors, offering easy and seamless integration of the entire propel system. This results in short and focused development cycles with fast machine startup. “PC-GO’s validated software package and preconfigured parameters enable machine startup in less than three days. Comparatively speaking, it could easily take two years to write a program like this from scratch,” said Aaron Rodriguez, product application engineer, Danfoss Power Solutions. “Our plug-andperform system embeds more than 30 years of experience in the automotive field so there’s practically zero development effort, which is highly beneficial to OEMs without large software engineering teams.” PC-GO offers multiple adjustable drive modes, including an ECO mode feature that maintains the desired vehicle speed in transport mode while reducing engine speed. This reduces idle losses of the work function hydraulics, lowering fuel consumption and noise, and can allow for engine downsizing. PC-GO offers numerous built-in protections, including engine overspeed protection, pump and motor overspeed protections, mode-dependent speed limitation, cold start protection, and temperature protection. In addition, the software includes pressure limiting, cruise control, and anti-stall, as well as robust error monitoring. With its PC036 safety controller, PC-GO is a PLd SIL 2 functional safety compliant system. It features fully integrated safety functions and has been tested, validated, and documented for compliance with international safety regulations such as Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. The PC036 controller’s robust housing offers reliable performance in harsh environments. It can be mounted inside the engine compartment or elsewhere on the vehicle, providing greater installation flexibility. www.danfoss.com PC-GO software cuts propel subsystem development time
