FLIR SYSTEMS has launched the FLIR T840, a new thermal camera in the high-performance T-Series family. The company says the high-resolution FLIR T840 offers a brighter display and an integrated viewfinder to help electrical utility, plant managers, and other thermography professionals find and diagnose failing components in any lighting conditions to help avoid costly power outages and plant shutdowns. The company says featuring the award-winning design of the FLIR T-series camera platform, the FLIR T840 features an ergonomic body, a vibrant LCD touchscreen, and a viewfinder to make it easy to use in any lighting conditions. The 464x348-resolution camera incorporates FLIR advanced Vision Processing, including patented MSX image enhancement technology, UltraMax, and proprietary adaptive filtering algorithms to provide customers with enhanced measurement accuracy and image clarity. w | www.flir.com/t840 Encapsulated coil and industrial connector specialist ATAM, has announced it will be at Hannover Messe (April 1-5, 2019) with a new proposal; the 257 ATEX and IECEx approved coil for Zone 1 gas and dust and for applications up to M2. ATAM says this new solution complements the already wide range of encapsulated and explosion proof coils it designs for use in potentially explosive environments. The company says the 257 coil addresses highly demanding pneumatic applications and meets all the necessary approvals to ensure maximum safety of use, even in mining environments. The new coil by ATAM features a UL approved housing to improve protection to the internal components including a precision thermo fuse placed in direct contact with the outer surface of the coil encapsulation. t | 024 7632 6060 (DDI: 024 7658 0018) e | lhargrave@atam.uk.com Fulton has confirmed that its VSRT Steam Boiler Operation & Maintenance course has been certified by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to the continuing professional development principles. The news follows the company’s announcement in late-2018 that it had achieved similar CPD Certification status, but for its Vertical Steam Boiler Operation & Maintenance course. Commenting for Fulton, aftercare and business development manager Jeff Byrne says: “You could be forgiven for thinking that achieving certified status for the VSRT course was easy as we had recently achieved similar for our vertical steam boiler course. However, given the radical design of our double- award-winning VSRT steam boiler and the fact that it was only launched in early-2018, it took months of extra assessments to achieve. We are therefore delighted to have gained certification for the training course so quickly.” t | 0117 972 3322 e | training@fulton.co.uk w | www.fulton.co.uk HENKEL reports it has introduced a new process control system that addresses key challenges in metal pre-treatment as customers are increasingly seeking to implement data- driven Industry 4.0 solutions. In combination with the company’s New Generation Conversion coatings (NGC) for multi-metal substrates, the company says the BONDERITE E-CO digital multi-channel (DMC) controller enables maximum corrosion performance and sustainability at minimised overall process costs. BONDERITE E-CO DMC is a process control system that allows users to run complex metal pre-treatment lines with up to fifteen or more stages. It features an intuitive touch screen PLC interface and supports fully digitalised process control with flexible communication and remote access functionality. Thanks to its adaptive open system architecture, the new digital multi-channel control system easily integrates in to customers’ existing conversion processes and automation concepts. W | www.bonderite-solutions.co.uk / www.henkel.com Digital multi-channel controller FLEXICON reports it has launched a new range of easy-fit, abrasion rings designed to reduce wear and extend the life of non-metallic, corrugated flexible conduit. Manufactured in the UK from nylon PA66 and with excellent low fire hazard properties, abrasion rings are said to be ideal for applications where abrasion or mechanical wear of non-metallic conduit could present a potential hazard. Flexicon says its product solution offers a further layer of mechanical protection in applications where the conduit may come into contact with other objects or surfaces through movement or vibration. The abrasion rings are supplied as two half shells complete with screws, which are wrapped around the conduit to create a mechanical barrier between the conduit and any surface that it may come in to contact with. e | flexiconsales@atkore.com w | www.flexicon.uk.com. The company says they feature a seal-less design that eliminates leaks, hazards and the expense associated with seals and packing; lowering the cost of ownership and giving a longer service life than competitive pumping technologies. There are two models, currently, in the T200 Series, rated at 207 bar (3000 psi) and 241 bar (3500 psi) with maximum flows of 387 l/min (102.2 US gpm) and 349 l/min (92.4 US gpm) respectively. The new pumps are said to be ideal for oil and gas production, mining operations, boiler feed and high-pressure cleaning. w | www.hydra-cell.eu 12 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk March 2019 Maintenance Matters Multi-diaphragm seal-less pump
