Salt spray or salt fog testing exposes springs and other components to a saline fog environment in order to ascertain the corrosion resistance of the material of which they’re made or the surface coating thereof. A controlled saline situation will show how long it takes for a component to accede to rust or other oxides, if indeed it succumbs at all. Equipment required for the salt spray chamber comprises the holding tank with its salt solution of between 4 – 6% pH and the salt spray cabinet itself where the salt water solution is atomised using pressurised air. t | 01963 363377 e | sales@wmhughes.co.uk w | www.wmhughes.co.uk A purpose-built infra-red heating system from HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT, is being used by Edrington, the premium spirits company, to assist in regenerating casks. This is achieved by replacing the existing ends of refill casks with new toasted ends toasted in the Hereaus Infra-red toaster. Edrington is an international spirits company whose brands include The Macallan, Highland Park and The Glenrothes single malt Scotch whiskies, The Famous Grouse blended Scotch and Brugal Rum. Successful extensive trials at Heraeus’s Neston Applications Centre established that infra-red would satisfy the end toasting requirement and consequently, an 80.4kW carbon medium wave oven was installed at Edrington’s Muirhall Cooperage site. The heating zone of the oven can accommodate two cask ends and is fitted with an optical pyrometer. TouchWMS is already live in four Renold plants worldwide. In Renold’s China chain manufacturing operation TouchWMS will integrate in real time with the company’s ‘Infor M3’ ERP system to manage all Renold’s factory processes. TouchWMS supports the full range of warehouse processes from goods receipt, guided put-away, task management, stock allocation and multi-zone wave picking, single order pick and pack or bulk order picking.
