Valve specialist BONOMI (UK) has announced it has extended its range of Valpres products with the introduction of new stainless steel (723100) and carbon steel (724100) 2-way flanged direct mount wafer pattern ball valves. Featuring an ISO 5211 Direct Mounting pad which allows actuators to mount straight on to the valve, Bonomi says the new wafer ball valve eliminates the requirement for an additional valve mounting kit. Operational within a temperature range of between - 20ºC to 160ºC and available in sizes 1” to 4”, these full-bore flanged ball valves (PN16 or ANSI 150) are available in stainless steel CF8M or carbon steel LCB and supplied complete with antistatic device. Each wafer pattern ball valve can be supplied fully assembled with either a pneumatic or electric actuator. t | 024 7635 4535 e | sales@bonomi.co.uk w | www.bonomi.co.uk BoWex curved-tooth gear couplings are flexible shaft connections for positive torque transmission designed to compensate for axial, radial, and angular shaft misalignment. KTR’s BoWex M, consists of two toothed hubs and a nylon sleeve with toothing inside KTR says that, while a standard jaw-type coupling might provide an advantage in its ability to adjust the performance of the coupling by changing the shore hardness of the elastomer insert – not possible with a nylon sleeve gear coupling – the BoWex M also offers advantages. A standard BoWex M coupling is double cardanic. This means the design features two points of flexion, offering significant compensation for radial misalignments. Both radial and angular misalignment is combated by the operating principle of the crowned gear tooth. t | 0114 258 7757 e | uksales@ktr.com w | www.ktr.com LORIEN ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS has announced it has led the construction of a 20,000 sq m factory extension for one of Poland’s largest agricultural vehicle manufacturers. Lorien was commissioned to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services. The project kicked off in June 2017 with construction starting in October that year. The extension was completed on schedule in October 2018, when CNH obtained an occupancy permit. Lukasz Kolendowicz, managing director of Lorien Engineering Polska, said: “This was a fast track construction project for which we used a clear procurement approach. Construction work ran smoothly and in a pleasant atmosphere thanks to strong co-operation and a pro-active, scrupulous approach from the combined teams of CNH, the general contractor and Lorien. The project was delivered within the allocated budget.” w | www.lorienengineering.com KISTLER INSTRUMENTS says it has a wide range of options for using sensors and process monitoring systems to support Industry 4.0, all of which are developed to deliver gains in quality and efficiency. Production monitoring systems combined with a wide range of sensors are the basis of enhanced digital system integration. Kistler says its sensors are used in a variety of assembly processes to provide intelligent monitoring and control of production, generating improved product quality and enhanced productivity. The company says the maXYmos range of monitoring systems allow highly dynamic force and torque signals to be monitored and controlled with high precision, even where space is limited and forces and torques are small and the graphic presentation makes the optimisation of the production processes both simple and accurate. t | 01256 741550 e | sales.uk@kistler.com The path to smart automation FNT 16 neutral disconnect terminal EGE has announced it now offers IECEx-certified signal processing units for the growing range IECEx-approved two-wire sensors. The company says the certification greatly facilitates exporting the intrinsically safe sensors to many countries around the world – machine manufacturers and plant engineers can now use them in applications where they were previously barred or had to be specially certified in a tedious process. The type IKMb 122 Ex signal processing units connect to intrinsically safe EGE two-wire sensors for hazardous gas and dust atmospheres. They feature a space-saving, 22 mm wide DIN rail housing and are installed outside the hazardous area. Green, yellow, and red LEDs on the front side indicate the operating status and signal alarms, if the integrated cable breakage detection or the short-circuit monitoring is triggered. t | +49 . 4346 . 4158-0 e | info@ege-elektronik.com w | www.ege-elektronik.com IECEx-certified processing units Factory expansion completed Wafer ball valve range Curved-tooth gear couplings CONTA-CLIP has announced it has expanded its range of single-level push-in installation terminals, adding the FNT 16 neutral disconnect terminal for wire cross sections between 2.5 mm 2 and 25 mm 2 (up to 16 mm 2 with wire-end ferrules). The company says the push-in connection system allows for safe connection of wires without tools. When a solid wire or ferrule is inserted, the pressure spring opens automatically and establishes a secure contact. Standard screwdrivers can be used to connect and disconnect flexible wires without ferrules. The disconnect terminal integrates a receptacle for the 10x3-mm neutral busbar. There is no need for an additional fixing plate. The neutral busbar is securely connected via a screw-less slider. t | +49 . 5257 . 9833 - 0 e | christian.quade@conta-clip.de w | www.conta-clip.com 28 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk March 2019 Process, Controls & Plant
