The company’s calibration laboratory has been recognised by the sole national accreditation body for the United Kingdom ENDRESS+HAUSER has announced its wet flow calibration rig, based at the company’s UK headquarters in Manchester, has been awarded UKAS accreditation. UKAS ensures that companies meet the requirements of ISO 17025, the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. The rigorous auditing process tests the quality and method of the calibration as well as the competency of technicians carrying out the work, the process of creating and storing documentation and the traceability of reference standards. “It’s a trust issue,” explained Mohsin Patel, internal repair and calibration team leader. “Because we’re UKAS accredited, customers can trust us and know that we provide a quality service. It means they can rely on the accuracy of their flowmeters, which is vital for quality-critical applications in the life sciences, oil & gas and food & beverage sectors.” Accredited and cost-effective: Endress+Hauser says it aims to become the number one calibration provider in the UK. “Compared to the other accredited calibration laboratories in the UK, we are competitive on price and offer a better turnaround,” said Mohsin Patel. t | 0161 286 5050 w | www.uk.endress.com/calibration-booking UKAS accreditation achieved SNICKERS says its new range of hoodies and sweatshirts for craftsmen and women are probably the most comfortable it has ever designed. The company says AirBench BD is a self-contained blowdown station for the removal of coolant and swarf from machined parts. An operator can simply place parts in the cabinet, lower the screen, and use the integral blow gun to clean parts using factory compressed air. An integral venturi system assists with capture of coolant and the filter system in the base of the unit is easily replaced when full. The new model 1000mm wide BD1000 joins the existing 500mm wide BD500 and is designed for longer components. Both models run solely from factory air supplies with no requirement for electrical connections – making them ideal for location next to machine tools for regular operator use. t | 01206 791191 w | www.airbench.com/bd Controlling coolant problems 18 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk November 2019 Maintenance Matters Lifting equipment manufacturer and service provider, KONECRANES UK, has announced it has been awarded the RoSPA Gold Award for health and safety.
