Having recently announced a series of appointments for its aftercare/service department, leading heat transfer specialist FULTON has announced it is continuing to strengthen its UK team with a number of senior roles changes. Having joined Fulton in May 2017, Leigh Bryan has assumed the role of national consultant specialist at the company. Commenting on the new role, managing director Carl Knight says: “In his previous role, Leigh was instrumental in successfully integrating the VSRT into Fulton’s current portfolio and introducing it to the UK market as the most radical change to vertical steam boiler design since Fulton pioneered the vertical tubeless boiler in 1949. “In his new role, Leigh will remain an integral member of the management team and, thanks to the success of the ultra-low NOx VSRT steam boiler since its launch, will provide specification support, documentation and CPD training to specifiers and consultants across numerous markets.” Ruth Price, who joined Fulton in 2012 as area sales manager for the North of England and North Wales, has also been promoted and, in her new role as senior sales engineer, will work closely with new and existing customers across the UK to advise on optimum boiler and steam systems specifications for their projects. t | 0117 972 3322 e | sales@fulton.co.uk w | www.fulton.co.uk JAMES WALKER says it is a name synonymous with sealing technology since its development and registration of some of the earliest modern packing patents and products, and throughout its history it has remained a pioneer in this field. The company says the James Walker compression packing portfolio is today one of the most extensive on the market, with packings suitable for higher speeds, extremes of temperature and pressure and capable of resisting aggressive media to provide a better, longer- lasting seal than ever before. For pump shaft sealing in food and pharmaceutical applications with safe PTFE-based dry packings to heavily lubricated graphite or aramid-fibre for duties involving highly-abrasive media, the company says it’s safe to say the current range offers a product for every application. w | www.jameswalker.biz/compression-packing Guide to compression packing The HYDRA-CELL MT8 low-flow, high-pressure metering and dosing pump is now available with ATEX Zone 2 certification.Conforming to ATEX Group ll, Category 3, Zone 2, gas group (IIC) and temperature class (T5 or T4 depending on process liquid temperature), the company says the MT8 is classified for use within explosive atmospheres consisting of a mixture of air and flammable substance in the form of gas, vapour or mist that is not likely to occur in normal operation, but if it does occur will persist for a short time only For Category 3, Zone 2, a protective system isn’t always required. In this case, an oil level sight bowl is fitted to the drive side of the Hydra-Cell pump that enables easy monitoring by the end user. t | 01252 919033 e | brenda@wannerint.com w | www.hydra-cell.co.uk Pump has ATEX certification Diamond lapping gel Changes to senior roles ENGIS reports it has worked closely with ball valve manufacturers to develop a new lapping gel for severe service ball valve lapping applications such as oil and gas production and petro-chemical refining. The company says benefits of the Engis LD diamond lapping Gel include longer cycle-time per application, (approximately twice the length of some compounds) resulting in less downtime and faster lap rates, which can reduce overall lapping time by up to 30-40%. Less pressure is required using the LD Gel, reducing scratching and operator fatigue, resulting in reduced scrappage, while test stand failures are significantly reduced - to near zero in some instances.Engis lapping Gels contain specially controlled diamond particles micronized in Engis laboratories, whereas some conventional lapping compounds often incorporate rogue abrasive particles resulting in surface scratches, compromising the zero-leak goal. t | 01491.411117 e | sales@engis.uk.com w | www.engis.com 26 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk November 2019 Process, Controls & Plant AUMA ACTUATORS, the UK operation of AUMA Reister GmbH, manufacturer of electric valve actuators, has announced it has launched a new website, www.auma.co.uk , to showcase the work of the UK company, and to act as a secure information and resource portal for accredited technicians, channel partners and framework users. AUMA’s UK training programme, AUMA Certified Engineering (ACE) trains and accredits technicians in a variety of industries, most notably water and wastewater, and auma.co.uk is an extension and development of that provision. Technicians are usually trained to ACE Level 1 or 2, Level 1 being aimed at, for example, employees of valve companies who need how to mount and configure AUMA actuators to add value for their customers and Level 2 for people who need to work on site and understand systems integration and troubleshooting. w: | www.auma.co.uk New website
