WILLIAM HUGHES has announced it has come to the aid of an automotive seat manufacturer, providing a spot welded grid assembly to complete an under-seat storage unit for a city van. Such an intricate part had to meet stringent criteria for robustness and aesthetics, while assuring ease of integration into the under-seat structure. The seat is manufactured by a global leader in automotive seating. This company had no problem forming the tray base and three of the sides as part of the larger welded structure, but the fourth side proved more intricate and the company saw value in subcontracting the assembly to a third party. William Hughes was able to demonstrate its capability in the area, and its ability to provide the part at a price that made it attractive. t | 01963 363377 e | sales@wmhughes.co.uk w | www.wmhughes.co.uk EGE has announced it has developed a new compact, rugged MDVH amplifier with enhanced sensitivity for its System 3000 industrial metal detector. The company says the completely redesigned amplifier is characterised by higher adjustable sensitivity levels, reduced susceptibility to interference, and a more robust housing with IP67 ingress protection. Featuring automatic self-calibration, the unit works reliably even if the detector coil comes near metal fittings. Users can adjust the sensitivity of the detector coil as required via a rotary potentiometer on the housing front. The amplifier has a 260 x 160 x 90 mm wide aluminum housing. It is designed for an extended temperature range of 25 °C to 70 °C. EGE’s System 3000 is used in conveyor lines for noncontact detection of metal parts. t | +49 . 4346 . 4158-0 e | info@ege-elektronik.com w | www.ege-elektronik.com Corrosion protection and engineering services specialist- CORROSERVE - was contracted to protect the internal surfaces of a newly manufactured mild steel chimney prior to it being installed at a bio-methane plant. In service the chimney will be exposed to a range of waste gasses, so protecting it by lining with a specialist coating system would extend its service life and reduce future maintenance down time. Corroserve first abrasive blast cleaned all the internal surfaces in accordance with ISO8501- 1 Sa2 1 ⁄ 2 , to remove heavy mill scale and provide the required surface profile for coating. This was followed by the application of multiple coats of Polyglass VEF – spray applied using Agmec internal pipe spraying equipment to achieve a DFT of 1250 m. The contract was completed quickly and efficiently and the chimney installed on site shortly thereafter. t | 0113 2760 760 e | patrickb@corrocoat.com BRAMMER BUCK & HICKMAN, a leading UK supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, has announced a new supply contract with the Swift Group, incorporating a substantial number of industrial vending machines.
