CAE provider EPLAN has announced it is now offering a free basic version of its popular and highly sought-after EPLAN eVIEW and EPLAN eBUILD packages and says the offer is open to all those interested in using these two leading EPLAN solutions for themselves. A series of webinars and training videos will also be released shortly to enable users to make the most of their trials. The company says part of the EPLAN ePULSE family, EPLAN eVIEW makes it easy for designers and customers to work closely together on projects, helping to speed up the design review procedure as well as reducing the need for design revisions and reworking, resulting in substantial cost savings. Thanks to EPLAN eVIEW, engineering projects generated using the EPLAN Platform can be accessed directly via the cloud. w | www.epulse.com SICK has announced it has released safety-certified versions of its TTK70 and TTK50 magnetic absolute linear encoders with Hiperface interface, widening the opportunities for accurate, absolute motor feedback systems to be integrated into safe linear drives. SICK says its TTK70S and TTK50S absolute linear encoders with Hiperface interface are now certified to SIL2 (IEC 61508) and PLd (EN ISO 13849) for safety- related motion supporting SLS (safely-limited speed) safety functions in safe drive controls. The SICK TTK70 absolute linear encoder, together with the more compact SICK TTK50, are used for non- contact feedback of absolute position and speeds in linear axes. Offering long measurement lengths, the encoders are ideal for dynamic applications in linear direct drives or slide systems, wherever micron accuracy and high repeatability are demanded. t | 01727 831121 e | andrea.hornby@sick.co.uk. w | www.sick.co.uk Linear motor feedback encoders SNICKERS WORKWEAR says its ProtecWork range has new additions to its protective wear garments including Class 1 and 2 hi-vis work trousers, tops and sweat shirts. The company says fully accredited for a variety of risk environments such as heat and flame, electrostatic, chemical and bad weather conditions, all the garments are manufactured from tailor-made fabrics designed to respond to the demands and risk factors of the conditions in which they’re worn. Snickers says with over 60 different garments and accessories to choose from, customers can make sure they get the right protection, visibility, flexibility, comfort and freedom of movement on site. The company says recent design enhancements have resulted in improved performance for less demanding OEM applications with operating temperatures up to 120ºC such as; industrial gearboxes, pumps fans, blowers and hydro-generator applications. Meanwhile the 180ºC rated standard XPR04 probes with separate drivers would be suitable for use on higher temperature machines such as turbines. Proximity probes play an important role in machine shaft vibration, position and speed measurements, providing operators critical information on the rotating plant dynamic performance and bearing condition. t | 01442 876833 e | sales@sensonics.co.uk w | www.sensonics.co.uk / https://www.sensonics.co.uk/products/vibration-and-position-monitoring/ Proximity probes for improved reliability Maintenance Matters March 2020 www.pwemag.co.uk Plant & Works Engineering | 27 New protective clothing HART DOOR SYSTEMS says orders for a range of door types from a broad spectrum of industrial categories has ended 2019 with a flourish. Working for a chemical processing company Hart received an order for a further five Speedor Storms following the earlier installation of one Speedor Storm. For a construction company Hart delivered 12 pedestrian doors, eight Speedor Minis, two Speedor Storms, one insulated roller shutter and one electrically operated roller shutter and for a major car manufacturer Hart delivered a further Speedor Cleanroom for a test booth in its trim and chassis facility. Finally for a major port, Hart delivered six ATEX-rated Speedor Supers and two electrically operated roller shutters. “This sample of recent orders demonstrates the breadth of door types we can supply,” said a Hart spokesperson. “Despite some macro economy concerns Hart continues to supply its customer base with doors that deliver, sometimes in very testing environments.” t | 0191 214 0404 w | www.hartdoors.com End of year flourish
