HI-LINE INDUSTRIES, an established UK manufacturer of high-quality compressed air purification equipment, has released the 2021 version of its energy-efficient Tundra refrigeration dryers. Most notable among the enhancements is a switch of refrigerant to R513a in models up to and including Tundra 115 (115 cfm, 195 m3/hr capacity). A HFC/HFO blend, R513a refrigerant has no ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and a much reduced CO2 impact in comparison with the previous R134a refrigerant. As a result, the company says customers can rest assured that Hi-line is continuing its commitment to sustainability in manufacturing by minimising its carbon footprint. The F-Gas regulation means that refrigerants with a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of more than 2500 are now subject to a ban. However, while R134a is below this limit and remains legal, it is sufficiently high for the regulation to stipulate an incremental phasing- down of production quotas to help reduce environmental impact. R513A is widely viewed as the optimum replacement. Importantly, R513a is an A1 safety group refrigerant and is neither toxic nor combustible. Unlike flammable refrigerants, R513a is subject to less stringent regulations in handling, maintenance intervals and compulsory leak tests, thus saving time and money. Hi-line says switching to R513a builds on the sustainable credentials of the Tundra range, which is already renowned for its optimised energy efficiency via capabilities such as minimal pressure drop and lower absorbed power. Reduced energy consumption is vital in today’s ultra-competitive marketplace, which is why Hi-line says it has worked hard to offer customers a dryer solution that drives down energy costs. t | 01283 533377 e | enquiries@hilineindustries.com w | www.hilineindustries.com ESAB has announced that its Robust Feed wire feeder has received the highly coveted Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021. The company says the Robust Feed was designed for portability, durability and productivity and is the only portable feeder with an IP44 protection class rating, which means it is protected against water splashes from all directions. A completely-sealed wire feed compartment protects the wire from dust, an optional heater drives off moisture to preserve wire integrity and its double-wall design has special zones to provide impact and abrasion resistance. The controls, power and gas cable connections are protected inside the housing, and a reliable strain relief removes cable stress. This is the second Red Dot award ESAB has won for product design. w | esab.com Quick Flex elastomeric couplings from Lovejoy Europe / R+L Hydraulics are durable couplings for harsh environments. They need minimal maintenance, are easy to install and require no lubrication. The series is offered in multiple cover and insert configurations. The couplings are said to be ideal for motor to gearbox, gearbox to driven equipment, and motors to pumps, as well as for any drive shaft to driven shaft application. Typical industries include steel mills, food processing, pulp and paper, mining, as well as oil and gas. The couplings are inherently balanced for high-speed applications. Their design dampens torsional vibration and shock to help extend life of the coupling and surrounding components. Because the metal hubs don’t wear, the elastomeric insert is the only spare part needed. The inserts help reduce downtime and replacement costs. t | +49 2392 509 0 e | info@rl-hydraulics.com w | www.rl-hydraulics.com / www.lovejoy- inc.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/QF- Brochure.pdf Quick Flex elastomeric couplings Motion control technology group YASKAWA has announced it has delivered its 30 millionth inverter drive and also reached 20 million units in its servo drives division. Active in the servo drives market since 1959, the company says it was the first to develop a DC servomotor, known as the Minertia Motor and this was followed by the first AC servomotor series in 1983 and then in 1992 by the Sigma Series, which has been refined into the current Sigma 7 Series. Yaskawa says it began developing and producing inverters in 1974 with the world’s very first transistor inverter and today its current generation is the GA500 Series of variable speed drives which set new standards in performance. These compact inverter drives help users to simplify complex technologies by combining outstanding reliability and ease-of-use with performance and adaptability. t | 01295 272755 e | salesuk@yaskawa.eu.com w | www.yaskawa.eu.com Longevity and success Boosting environmental credentials HUMIDITY SOLUTIONS offers the Cotes range of desiccant dehumidifiers in the UK.
