Guntamatic operates internationally producing high-tech biomass heating systems. From fully automatic log wood heating systems through to pellet heating, Guntamatic says it continually demonstrates itself to be the leader in innovation in its industry. The company says it has always used FRONIUS welding technology to ensure the high-quality production of its products and since 2020, the Austrian family-run company has also put its trust in the Fronius TransSteel 4000 Pulse to improve overall manual welding efficiency in production. Guntamatic says its hybrid heating systems combine the best of both worlds, the perfect combination of heat generation by means of an electric heat pump for heating water and biomass combustion. This means the system can constantly take advantage of stored prices for electricity and wood/pellets. The company says the trolley, which is designed for use with the state-of-the-art Beamex MC6-T Multifunction Temperature Calibrator and Communicator, gives calibration technicians a mobile station for temperature calibration with all of the tools required within easy reach. The trolley can also be equipped with pressure calibration capabilities by adding the new External Pressure Module for CENTRiCAL. The Temperature Calibration Trolley carries all the necessary calibration tools with adjustable support for temperature calibrators, a heat-resistant silicon mat on the shelf, and a dedicated power socket for the calibrators. The instrument panel is configurable with options for five different mains power supply modules, and the trolley can also be customised for specific needs. e | sales@beamex.com w | www.beamex.com/calibrators/beamex- centrical-calibration-bench/ When motion equipment is being used in harsh environments, it needs to be of resilient design and manufactured from highly durable materials. Matara UK, a specialist in automation, pneumatics and linear motion products, can provide customers with Armoloy TDC coated linear rail and ballscrews for maximum longevity in demanding applications and locations. Matara says its linear rail and ballscrews use top grade materials and are subjected to extremely rigorous heat treatment and grinding processes, for high quality products. For added protection, and where the standard materials will not suffice, these products are now available with Armoloy TDC coating, which is a hard (78Rc), thin, dense chromium coating with a micro-nodular surface texture. Using Armoloy TDC coatings provides corrosion protection equal to 440 series stainless steel. t | 01684 850000 e | sales@matarauk.co.uk w | www.matara.com/ MENZEL ELEKTROMOTOREN says it has realised an unusual motor configuration to help out a customer: the operator of a large chemical plant needed a replacement for a failed pump motor. It seemed difficult, at first, to find a machine able to accommodate an existing oversized pump flange dimension. Only the family-run company Menzel offered a size 400 motor that matched the performance profile and was light enough. The Berlin-based manufacturer converted a stock, IM B3 type motor (foot mounting) to type IM V1 (vertical flange mounting). For this purpose, the drive-end bearing seat was converted for the installation of a thrust bearing. Menzel also manufactured the special flange in-house and adapted it to the shaft, which could only protrude 120 mm from the flange. t | +49 . 30 . 349 922-0 e | info@menzel-motors.com w | www.menzel-motors.com Pump motor with special flange When projects are being designed, whether they are airports, warehouses, or distribution centres, the planning and, more importantly, the acceptability of the electrical systems can be a major challenge for project planners and designers. If the components utilised have the necessary approvals, the effort involved can be considerably reduced. This is exactly what Wieland Electric’s podis 5G6 energy bus system gives, having recently gained UL system approval, adding to its’s existing TUV compliance. This means that exporting companies in particular, benefit from less testing and save time when it comes to getting their electrical systems approved. Wieland Electric says it now has a fully and coherently documented installation system, thanks to the UL 2875 certification of the podis 5G6 power bus systems, make it considerably easier to approve electrical installations on site, both in Europe and North America. t | 01483 531213 w | www.wieland.co.uk Planning of electrical systems Sustainable heating with biomass Temperature Calibration Trolley BABCOCK WANSON, a leading player in the design and maintenance of industrial boiler rooms, has announced it has completed its first acquisition and strengthened its position in the UK with the purchase of Steam Plant Engineering (SPE), a leader in the field of industrial boiler services. The acquisition has been made thanks to the support of Kartesia, which recently became its new majority shareholder. The company says this acquisition fully reflects the ambition and objectives of the Babcock Wanson Group to become the pan-European leader in the industrial boiler services industry by consolidating the key players in the market. Founded in 2001 by Dan Garbett, the current Managing Director, SPE is a company based near Birmingham (UK) with a strong service orientation in the field of steam boilers. w | www.babcock-wanson.com 24 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk November 2021 Process, Controls & Plant Linear rail and ballscrews Industrial boiler services
