www.pwemag.co.uk The magazine for plant, works and maintenance engineers Annual Buyers’ Guide 2022 T H E I N S T I T U T I O N O F D I A G N O S T I C E N G I N E E R S Welcome to the Plant & Works Engineering 2022 Buyers’ Guide This annual at-a-glance listing is a comprehensive user-friendly and indispensable source for identifying a cross section of industrial products and services. The Guide’s easy-to-use format can provide end-users with contact information for many of the leading suppliers in a particular product or service sector – from condition monitoring right through to boilers, pumps and valves or compressed air. Looking through the following pages you will see many long-established names alongside newcomers looking to make their mark within the engineering and manufacturing sectors. Last year I said that the previous year was momentous so I’m not sure how to describe 2021 other than it has been a roller coaster of a ride that has seen the recovery of manufacturing steadily gaining increased speed as the year went on. One of the positives of this year has been the increased uptake in digitalisation with many businesses now opting to invest in future proofing their businesses as well as investing in digital skills to take advantage of the potential opportunities which lie ahead. For many, apprenticeship schemes have been the way forward which is a fantastic much-needed boost to our engineering workforce. At the heart digitalisation is the development of a Maintenance 4.0 strategy to deliver digital asset management. Effectively Maintenance 4.0 includes a holistic view of sources of data, ways to connect, ways to collect, ways to analyse and recommended actions to ensure asset function and asset management are digitally assisted. This strategy will help future proof UK manufacturing which will face increasing competition from European competitors who are equally transitioning to a smart future. Although some may be skeptical of the value of such strategies Maintenance 4.0 can only benefit traditional physical maintenance skills and add to a plant’s overall effectiveness and management. Those that don’t invest will unfortunately have limited opportunities to compete with those that do. This is where the PWE Buyers’ Guide can help provide readers with the necessary contact information to aid in the search for companies offering a range of the right maintenance solutions and strategies. One of the primary purposes of the guide is to ensure readers are kept up-to-date with what manufacturers, suppliers and distributors from across a variety of industrial disciplines, can offer end-users in terms of products, as well as after-sales service and on-going support. We hope you agree this guide is an ideal means to determine at a glance the type of company that is geared towards providing the right solution for you and your business. On behalf of the PWE team may I wish you a healthy and prosperous 2022. Aaron Blutstein Editor
