Plant Works & Engineering March 2022

40 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk March 2022 Advanced assembly, forming and fabrication assets from Sertec’s recently closed springs and wire forms division have been given a new lease of life at Dorset- based WILLIAM HUGHES. When the assets became available, engineering director, Emma Burgon, spotted an opportunity to not only bolster her company’s existing capabilities, but also introduce new ones. “We’ve been able to increase our welding capacity,” she explains, “growing from eight weld cells to 12, and we will be adding a further four bending machines, taking us up to 10 in total. We’re also planning to move some plant to our facility in Bulgaria.” The new assets have almost immediately resulted in new business too, with the company recently winning significant business for welded-assembly work and contracts for six new wire frames. t | 01963 363377 e | sales@wmhughes.co.uk w | www.wmhughes.co.uk KANSAI HELIOS Group has announced it has expanded its production of coatings at two locations – Helios Coatings Italia and Helios Coatings Deutschland – using a COPERION twin screw extruder at each site. Two ZSK Mv PLUS extruders with 43 mm screw diameters for powder coating production were installed practically concurrently, one at the Riese Pio X location in the Venice region of Italy and the other at the Buchholz, Germany site. KANSAI HELIOS specifically decided upon Coperion’s twin screw extruder technology, due to its very high dispersion performance, and its suitability to a very broad range of recipes. KANSAI HELIOS values how Coperion ZSK extruders fulfill very high quality requirements, as well as their efficient operation and flexible options when manufacturing powder coatings. e | info@coperion.com. w | www.coperion.com Sensing and Instrumentation specialist BAUMER will be promoting its expanding range of innovative IO-Link devices and supporting software at the upcoming Drives & Controls show. Sensors are becoming increasingly important in the advances of robotic and automated systems and Baumer says it is at the forefront of sensor technology helping customers to develop ever more sophisticated manufacturing systems. Examples of this include the EB200E Programmable Incremental Encoder a very ‘smart’, flexible and cost-effective sensor with IO-Link and designed to precisely record many different measured values. The IO-Link ensures cost-effective integration and parameterization, provides easy speed feedback and is a reliable, long-term solution - even in applications where dirt, dust or fibres are present. Baumer now offers a wide range of IO-Link sensors covering control applications across many industry sectors. t | 01793 783839 e | sales.uk@baumer.com w | www.baumer.com/gb/en/ TE-TECH PROCESS SOLUTIONS has announced a strategic partnership with Spanish IT developer Createch360 to provide intelligent control solutions to key clients within the UK water industry. CREA is an operational intelligence platform that allows management and optimisation of integral wastewater treatment processes using real-time data monitoring of key process parameters. CREA provides intelligent decision support, multiple control strategies and automatic reporting on key data analytics and achieves quality consent limits with reduced operational costs and enhanced reliability. The software incorporates classical mathematical models, fuzzy logic, pattern recognition, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to analyse real-time data and provide control strategies and decision support dashboards. Key wastewater treatment applications such as; aerobic and anaerobic processes, nutrient removal, Anammox, sludge digestion and dewatering, can all be optimised from the platform. e | enquiries@te-tech.co.uk w | www.te-tech.co.uk/ New sensors and software Process, Controls & Plant Powder coating production expanded Bringing AI to the water industry New tech & new capacity E-learning Classroom based “Live” webinars On-site courses Tailored op琀ons For more informa琀on call 0121 601 6691 or scan code for the training guide Independent Pump Training from
