PANDUIT has introduced the compact semi-automatic, “PLA-100/E” WrapID automatic labelling system offering significant increases in productivity for medium to high-volume label applications. The company says users can benefit from faster turnaround times of up to 3X faster than traditional manual installation and 2X faster than leading competing systems. The winding head of the compact system is easy to reach, so that labels can be attached to the line or cable within 12.7 mm of the connectors or terminals. In addition, the label head has a modular design and can be replaced easily and inexpensively during maintenance, and the label position can be realigned at the push of a button. Improved ergonomics reduce operator fatigue and minimise the risk of repetitive motion injuries. w | www.panduit.com Issues such as limited range are still causing somewhat of a roadblock for the electric vehicle industry. However according to Ramsy Labassi, marketing manager at BRADSHAW ELECTRIC VEHICLES, whilst charging, or range-induced anxiety is understandable when considering the switch to electric, such concerns often don’t consider one vital factor – what the vehicle is being used for. As a leading supplier of the Goupil electric utility vehicle range – which cater for last mile distribution and waste management – Ramsy commented: “It’s often the first question that any potential customer will ask. What about the range? Of course, while this is a reasonable enquiry as all varieties electric vehicles do have a limited range when compared to a petrol or diesel powered vehicle, the mass anxiety surrounding the issue of electric vehicles running out of battery is relatively misguided.” Visit www.pwemag.co.uk for the full release. w | www.bradshawev.com Changes to the law concerning the use of red diesel came into effect on 1st April, affecting thousands of hire and construction companies across the UK. Mobile phone access doesn’t just simplify building entry. It also greatly streamlines system management and enhances information security. “Our customers save time and resources, since they don’t have to handle and deliver physical tags on site”, explains Visma’s sales director, Kari Kuittinen. Visma Megaflex deploys IDESCO’S 8 CD 2.0 MI readers in its system. These also read traditional MIFARE DESFire tags and cards, in addition to mobile IDs.
